"Boulders is fairly safe and it is within a good distance from all the surrounding towns, grocery stores, UMass and Amherst College. However, losing packages has been a huge issue in the complex. I have had many packages stolen not only from the main enterence, but also from my apartment door. The office was not helpful with that at all and said they cannot take any responsibility. There are cameras at the door and the gym, but they do not work and they couldn't also track my airpod that got lost in the gym even though I got them all detaisl needed about the time I entered the gym and the time I left and also the time I went back and couldn't find it. The gym and laundry rooms are often times were dirty, specially in the summer and are not cleaned as much. Noise is transferred is so easily, and if you have a lound neighbor the office is still not a place you can go to as they cannot solve the problem. The maintaine staff are very nice and helpful however, and can get things fixed easily and quickly once they get to their apartment, but again you have to visit the office at leat 3-4 times everytime something needs a repair until they notify the corresponding staff."
"Boulder's is pretty safe and at a good distance from UMass and Amherst College, but there are many issues to it. The laundries and common areas including the gym, are not very clean and not that very often cleaned. Packages get stolen both from the main enterence and the apartment door, and the office doesn't take any responsibility in helping you to find them. The cameras at the door and the gym are not working, so don't depend on them if you lose a package. The office is not very helpful most of times. They cannot help you with anyting wether it's a problem with a neighbor, losing packages, or getting anything lost in the common areas. Even when you have complaints, they are not very responsible and helpful and don't listen to you that much. I would choose it for the price and the distance from UMass, but it is not a very pleasant experience in these apartments."
"Most expensive place I’ve lived in amherst, yet it’s been the most dreadful. Rent went up and this place managed to get worse. Some of the front desk workers are rude, the halls smell, you can’t run a TV AND A BOX FAN at the same time even if EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE APARTMENT IS OFF or you’ll blow a fuse. Want a lamp or led lights? FORGET IT. You can’t run anything. Need to blow dry your hair? FORGET IT. My refrigerator turns off at random times and food spoils, and I’ve called over 4 times now and the issue remains unsolved. Also packages here get stolen! Happened to me and 2 other neighbors that I know of."
"I have a lot to say about living here that I have to wait till I move out to post. But I need to get across that package theft here is heavy. I just got my 10th package stolen and contacted the cops and they cannot do anything, yet the boulders just says to contact the cops about the missing packages. The cops are aware of the tons of stolen packages - seriously if you live here or plan to figure out somewhere else to send your mail."
"A review! I am an international graduate student with family! The Application process was well facilitated by Jennifer, who explained me everything I need to know about the lease contract. Moving process was very informal, they only gave me a folder with the keys without any explanation about the entire property. I had to find by myself where is the laundry, the trash deposit, etc, but this is a minor thing. We have been living here for three months, the apartment is a nice size even for a family like mine. The carpeting was brand new! The payment service and maintenance request is through a Northland web portal, which is very convenient. Maintenance staff are very helpful and quick to respond all our request and inquiries. The gym is great, it has good machines. The location is convenient. Even though is not walking distance, is close to downtown, to Hadley, everywhere. The PVTA route 31 helps a lot. There is a bus stop just in the middle of the property and another one so close. There are many green areas, which we usually use with my kids. I wish there was a playground for them. Moving to another country brings many challenges, but we find in The boulders our new Home in the US."
