"The nastiest place I ever lived. I live there for 2 years and with in the first 2 months there was mold growing everywhere. There pest control was horrible and after a year I was dealing with mice for 1000 a month always got ignored by management when I asked for those problems to be solved"
"Lived there for several years. It wasn't that great before, but the new owners ignore maintenance requests. Heard the same from other people as I was moving out."
"Poor maintenance, landlord refuses to properly take care of noisey neighbor below me, blasting music 1am-9am letting homeless people in to drink all night and even called police 5 times on him, says no smoking building but people smoke and they don't do anything about, even knowing we have a baby. Upped the price for a studio to a ridiculous $800. Apartments are half fast fixed. Things fall apart easily. Comes with air conditioner that they dont bother cleaning after someone moves, had mold in it, making all of us sick. Rude employees. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS PLACE."
"Please note that this review is for the newer Brook Edge apartments, not the Simard Apartments that were here before. I don't know why the management hasn't bothered to update the Google listing--probably afraid of reviews like the one I'm about to drop. The biggest problem is that the staff simply does not seem to care whether you live there or not. It is very rare that anyone is physically in the office, and while trying to sign the lease they kept wanting me to take time off work as they would not come in on weekends or after 4:30, as if my tenancy wasn't important enough to them to stay half an hour later when I could have made it after work. My only contact with anyone before the lease signing was over the phone, and I was not told several vital pieces of information, such as the fact that the deposit had to be a bank check (I was also quoted the wrong amount for the deposit) and that I would have to sign up with Chicopee Electric Light to get the key. When I finally did make it in, they acted like I was an idiot for not knowing what I hadn't been told. I almost walked at this point, but was so desperate to get into an apartment that I signed the lease--biggest mistake I've made in my life. I left at the end of my six-month lease and they still haven't bothered to ask me why, nor did they ever advise me what to do with the keys. My entire stay here was marked by unprofessionalism. There was no number on my door for almost a month and when I complained about this, the manager tried to argue that the very faint impression left in the door paint by the previous number counted as one. There is no secure drop box outside the office and I once saw a debit card stuck in the office door for over three days. No secure holding for packages either, they just dump them in the hallway where anyone could steal them. A maintenance person once showed up at 6 PM and began to break up concrete outside my window with a sledgehammer while blasting music from their truck--this is completely unacceptable in any decent apartment complex, of course, but they don't seem to know that nor care. My studio apartment had no major issues, but was not worth the price in my opinion. "Free" hot water does not work properly--sometimes it takes 10 or 15 minutes to warm up. Water is shut off completely at least once a month for "repairs" with no more than 24 hours' notice. Appliances are newish but not pristine, but no real problems there. There were large water stains on the floor behind the toilet (which often does not flush properly) when I moved in that I was never able to remove. There is also absolutely no soundproofing in the walls or floors, so if you can't handle hearing everything your neighbors do (including normal conversations and sneezing), don't live here. The nicest thing about the place, if one could call it that, was the abundance of natural light in the room, but even that doesn't make up for everything I disliked about living here. There was also a constant unpleasant smell in the back hallway that I was never able to quite place--it almost smells like cigarette smoke, but not like any cigarette I've ever smelled. One thing I can say for Brook Edge, though: living there was so awful that I swallowed my pride, reconciled with my parents, and moved in with them for six months to save for a down payment. We're all good friends now and I have a great condo to live in. So that's a success story in some respect, but only because this was such a horrible place to be."
"Lived here for a few months. Its AWFUL. The women who showed me the apartment was nice but wasnt the women i spoke to on the phone. I believe her name was pat? She was extremely rude and disrespectfull. The process of getting the apartment was hell. She wouldnt rerurn my calls after i had told her i was interested in renting. Then when it came time to fill out the paper work for the apartment she said there was no way for her to work around my scheduel! Since she doesnt work weekends!!! So i had to take time off work to fill out paperwork which is ridiculous. They need to get a new receptionist she is complete trash like these apartments!!!!! Not to mention when it snows they expect u to wait 3+ hrs for the plows to get there and wheb they do u have to leave with ur car for a hour!!!!! Maintence is non existent. I called many many times about getting things fixed such as -Doors were broken buzzers didnt work. Paint was all over the mirrors. Broken towel rack that cane off when i put a towel on it. Leaky pipes!!!The place is made to look nice if u look at it quickly but if u inspect it its trash. And everythings all magivered together. Just awful!!! Noisey neigbors which landlord doesnt care about. That blast music at 1am every night!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND !!!!!"
