"This review is around customer service - not quality of hair care. I have always had enjoyable experiences with haircuts from both of the providers I have come to over the past two years. Most recently I scheduled a haircut at the end of the day on a Friday. Throughout the week I was contacted three separate times about the "opportunity" to come earlier in the day. A few hours before my appointment, and after multiple explanations of why I could not come any sooner, I received a text message again inviting me to take an earlier appointment. I shared that I was beginning to feel like my Friday afternoon appointment was an inconvenience. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, I was met with very unkind, defensive, and unprofessional interactions from Meg at the front desk. This included letting me know she was the owners cousin when I attempted to give feedback and telling me "well everyone has kids and jobs, not just you" when I tried to explain why I couldn't reschedule when asked to. Some of the things she said to me had me literally sitting in the salon chair crying during my service, and in tears when I arrived at home. Rather than take it to the Internet, I attempted to give feedback personally and directly to the salon owner, but my attempts at asking for her to contact me directly were unfortunately not returned. If you want a decent haircut, this salon is a perfectly fine choice. But if you want to feel well taken care of, treated kindly, and have your time respected, there are many other options in the neighborhood."

"Molly is an angel! She deserves a raise! Got a dye and a trim for prom, and she was so accommodating and awesome, even though I have super short hair and some of the clips and foils fell off."

"I've been going to Pura Vida for 2 years now and I've had a great experience every time (with Sam). The Salon is modern with an earthy vibe decor that feels welcoming. Now I really enjoyed my first appointment with Jack. He was super helpful in helping me choose what style to go for and gave me a wonderful haircut and perfect "baby" highlights. Made me feel very comfortable during the whole time and had a great chat. I'm looking forward to the next time!"

"Absolutely love this place! I got a cut and blowout from Taylor who did an incredible job! She listened to what I wanted (which was "I have no idea") and made my hair look incredible! Everything was also super clean. Taylor cleaned her stations after using them, all employees had masks, social distancing was enforced in the salon chairs, and hand sanitizer was at the front door. Can't speak highly enough about this place."

"I haven’t been to a salon in a really long time and I wanted to cut my really long hair. Needless to say I was so nervous! All the staff there made me feel so comfortable and the women cutting my hair, Maria, was so awesome! She told me step by step what she was doing and made sure I was okay with it before she did it. We had a great conversation while she did my hair and it was overall a great experience and I am loving my new short hair!!"
