Reviews of Liz's Hair Care
"Ron did an amazing job dyeing my hair to orange. It was reasonably priced and included some face-framing highlights. 6 months later and the color stayed vibrant!"
"If I could give a zero star I would. Here is my experience years ago. I have natural hair and made an appointment for a haircut. I showed up on time had to wait. Come to find out they took 2 walk ins for braids instead. They ended up having an inexperienced girl cut my hair who kept telling me she wasn’t a regular stylist. She butchered my hair. I was still there in the afternoon. The owner or manager came in afternoon, only concerned about keeping the appointments on time and money. They had me wait because the owner told the stylist to take someone else. It was unbelievable. The stylist had started a braid and did not finish it. The helper ended up putting my hair in a ponytail. It was just unbelievable. This hair salon is all about the money. They could care less about you as a customer. I decided to write this review so people can be warned. There are plenty of other black salons with better customer service."
"It's a really great salon. I have been going for the past year, and I have always been happy with my service and I have never had a wait. I have relaxed hair and see Ron. He is always on time and efficient, and I leave looking and feeling great. Liz is really warm and has always tried to fit me in for last minute visits. Highly recommended!"
"Liz's salon has a calm, friendly atmosphere, and a staff with VERY TALENTED PROFESSIONALS. Unlike some ethnic hair salons, there is never a wait for your appointment, there are enough assistants to ensure that your time is never wasted, and the prices are amazingly reasonable for services of such high quality. I wish I had discovered it sooner."
"I had recently chopped all my heat damaged hair and finally had healthy 4C hair. I've had 5 appointments at Liz Hair Care and book for a silk press once a month. I found Liz Hair Care when my hair was in a healthy state. My first appointment went well with Donette. When I first called the salon I spoke to Liz and asked her " What comes with a silk press?" and she stated, wash, conditioned, and deep condition. I recently had an appointment where they were overbooked and was busy. I was under the dryer when the receptionist called me to come in for my appointment.. Already a Red flag. Second, they forgot to put deep conditioner in my hair and the whole process seems rushed, compared to other appointments I've had. All the stylist that I usually see doing hair was leaving and I was left with someone who I only see shampooing clients hair, so I was a bit worried. I should have listened to my gut and left, but I assumed it wouldn't be bad since I've never had a bad experience at the salon. I realized the stylist was doing a lot of passes with the straighter and I asked her did she put heat protectant in my hair and responded she said yes. My hair smelled burn't so automatically I knew my hair was damaged again. A week after, I wash my hair and I panicked because my coils weren't reverting back. I put conditioner, and deep conditioner for an hour each and still my hair was straight when I washed it out. I immediately called the salon and was told I would get a call back. Instead of getting a call back from Liz the owner, I got a call back from Christine, who handles the more technical side and is not a cosmetologist. After the back and fourth on what the next steps would be, I finally get a call from Liz two days later saying I should have asked to have my hair deep conditioned.. No apologies or her holding accountability. Then texted me stating I would have to come in so they can repair my hair but would still have to pay a portion of my braid or wash and go and they would cover the treatment, cut or trim. I said no thank you because why should I pay for something you damaged? She changed her response and replied again, they would pay for that if I started over but needed to see the damaged. I was over it and didn't respond. I usually don't like to leave bad reviews, especially when it's black owned but the way this whole thing was handled was unprofessional and unurgent. I paid for heat damaged hair, and it's unfair they're asking me to pay for them to repair it. No one took accountability not Liz, the stylist, or Christine and seemed like pride was more important.. I'm leaving this review for Liz so she knows to take something like this seriously if it happens again, and also leaving it for someone who respects their hair and pockets."
