Reviews of Nicolo Salon
"Nicolo’s is the best. I always love my hair cuts with Bethany. She’s really good and very nice and ALWAYS on time. Every bit of the salon (appts, kindness, cleanliness- I can go on and on) is perfect in every way. It’s a Great salon. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Don’t change!"
"I had my first every air cut for curly hair with Tatiana and it was amazing! She was so thorough and made sure to check in more than once to if I liked it. She gave me plenty of tips along the way for styling. I will definitely be coming back to Nicolo Salon. All my curly haired girls, run don’t walk to see Tatiana for your haircuts!"
"I got the most amazing haircut ever from Tatiana! It was my first air cut for curly hair, and it has totally changed the way I style and take care of my hair. She taught me so much when she was cutting and styling my hair. I'm thrilled with the result. More than a month out from my haircut and I still get compliments. Her cut and styling tips have allowed me to get more days between ways with my hair looking great. I didn't realize how many of the standard haircut practices are NOT designed for curly hair. I can't recommend Tatiana enough, especially if you're a curly girl!"
"I have been coming to this salon for over a year. I have always enjoyed working with Kelly in the past, she's awesome! Yesterday I had an opening in my schedule, and they were able to get me right in! Kelly was not available, so they offered Lorrie as a stylist. I ended up getting a totally different style from the style I've had FOREVER, so it was a little bit scary. Lorrie was incredible! I absolutely love my hair, the cut came out so beautifully, and she was a lot of fun to chat with for the duration. This place cannot be beat, I always feel like family in there, and I leave feeling stunning! Thanks Nicolo, Kelly and Lorrie, for being awesome!"
"I’ve gone back and forth with writing this for a few days because the salon has been very apologetic and accommodating, which I do greatly appreciate. However, after talking with a few other salons and confirming my hair was in fact bleach burned, I felt it was important to still speak about my experience. I rarely ever get my hair done. The last time was almost 7 months ago. I got some highlights done abroad on my hair that was completely grown out and virgin at the time. Loved them when they were done, but 6 months later, they were very grown out and after so many washes some were looking too brassy. I had two events coming up so I figured I would get them refreshed and get my hair trimmed. Being new to the area, I did my research of salons and after reading over 100 five-star reviews, I felt confident in Nicolo. During my appointment, I discussed everything with the stylist and showed photos of my hair when it was done previously. She seemed confident in her ability to achieve the same look. I booked for a full highlight and trim but after our consultation, she suggested a partial highlight, glaze, deep conditioning and trim. I agreed, and the process began. She applied foils all throughout my hair and then I sat under the heat lamp for about 25 minutes— I definitely think this is the cause of the “chemical haircut” I received. She then proceeded to do some stuff in the shampoo bowl, and began blow drying it with my back turned, and then recruited another stylist for help finishing. She asked me again about the cut and I said I just wanted a trim & wanted to start growing out my layers so didn’t want any additional layering. She cut it really quickly, I mean so quick I didn’t even see it happen. When the big reveal happened, I was shocked at how short and gray my hair looked. The stylist said it was because of a purple mousse she added post wash that gave it an ashy tint, and offered to do another glaze in a few days, but warned that it might make it look orange. She suggested waiting until the first wash to see what happened with the color. When I left the salon, my hair looked and felt terrible. It was barely blown out, so incredibly dry and uneven in color and cut. (First photo below is immediately after leaving salon) I decided to wash it a day later and stringy pieces of hair were falling out and it became greatly apparent that my hair was severely bleach damaged. When I finally got a look at the back of my hair, I saw all of the fried off white ends where the bleach was left to process too long and under heat (2nd, 3rd, and 4th photos below) The color and placement is also just completely off from what I showed, and resembles someone in the process of going blonde, rather than the subtle lowlight tones I showed her. The most appalling aspect though is definitely the clear as day bleach burned hair. When I spoke with the owner, he told me the stylist said my hair was already damaged when I came in. I use heat pretty regularly so my hair was definitely a little heat damaged, but it hadn’t been color treated or trimmed or anything at all in almost 7 months, so there’s no way it was damaged enough for a simple highlight service to cause such result. Also, considering the stylist is supposed to be a hair expert/salon professional, I feel that if she thought my hair was too damaged to proceed with what I wanted, she should’ve advised me against it, rather than just burning my hair off and rushing me out the door, which is essentially what it felt like as I was her last appointment of the day. Needless to say, extremely disappointed. The salon did provide me with a full refund, and offered a complimentary deep conditioning treatment, however I can’t foresee myself returning. Fifth photo is a reference photo I showed the stylist, and the last photo is my hair after having it fixed at another salon."
