"Found this place on Instagram via a popular Boston blogger. When we drove by I was a little nervous that I had been catfished but I was wrong, this place is great. If you're looking for a high-class restaurant to impress - this is it. It's more than a meal, it's an experience. The atmosphere is cool and funky and the booths provided an intimate environment. Our server was amazing - he answered all of our questions and made great recommendations. I really wish I could remember his name. They're appetizers definitely take the cake when it comes to presentation. We ordered the Sea Spoons (pictured), Clay Pot (pictured), Octopus on Fire (pictured) based on the recommendations of our server. The SEA SPOONS are small but beautiful, complex, and layered with flavor. The CLAY POT is bursting with colors and has a delicious truffle rice underneath. The OCTOPUS ON FIRE was presented on a stone plate with fire around the outside and complimented with scents of anise. For entrees we ordered the CRISPY CURRY DUCK on the recommendation of our server again which was undoubtably my favorite dish of this experience. Incredibly simple presentation comparatively but the flavor spoke for itself. The MALAYSIAN PAD THAI is made with your choice of protein or veggies. It was a huge portion and a little less sweet than other pad thais but very good. The MALAYSIAN SIZZLING RICE NOODLES were delicious. Again, you could choose your protein or veggies but we went with beef as described in the menu. It was SIZZZZLING like the fajitas at Chili's (but 1000x better than anything at Chili's). The noodles and beef on the bottom were nice and crispy from the hot stone bowl/plate. I tried the Mai Tai and Guava Lime cocktails. I felt pressured to try the MAI TAI being that it's a Japanese/Asian restaurant but the GUAVA LIME (pictured) cocktail is where it's at. I only tried these two cocktails but I'm confident that the Guava Lime is the best cocktail on the menu. The RAZZLE DAZZLE and WATERMELON AQUA-FRESA MOCKTAILS were also delicious and made to feel like real cocktails with their presentation and flavor profiles. The Watermelon Aqua-Fresa is notably very refreshing and none of the drinks we tried were too sweet which is very important to me. THE ONLY DRAWBACK: The menu is exceptionally difficult to navigate. You're presented with a paper copy of the drink menu, the chef's recommendations for food, and a picture menu featuring some of the appetizers and entrees along with a QR code to access the rest of the menu. The picture menu doesn't include any descriptions of the food so we were going back and forth between the picture menu and the paper/online menus. The online menu is also difficult to navigate as there are separate menus for Japanese items and Asian items and then multiple menus within each of these that are only accessible via the links at the top of each submenu. I think presenting all of the Asian items visible on one continuous page online with the option to skip to a specific category (i.e., main dishes) via the links at the top would be more conducive. And/or having a paper menu with all of the menu items listed and a "*" or something indicating the chef's recommendations."
"Got a lot of food last night for our first time. Sushi is top tier, no hint of fishiness.l whatsoever. Fish tastes so amazing, velvety and succulent. Don bowl were pretty good. A little disappoint that unagi don rice was cold and doesn’t feel like a warm dish. Perhaps it’s my ignorance and the dish is meant to be served room temp. Karage is great but lacks a dipping sauce. Grilled squid tastes well seasoned and well grilled but can tell that it was not fresh squid and was, again, room temp and not hot off the grill. The toro tartar and oysters were definitely highlights of the evening. Crepe cake was delicious but I, personally, would not classify as crepe cake as it doesn’t have the classic crepe layers that crepe cakes are known for. Would love to see other flavors outside of mango and chocolate, perhaps matcha as well. Lastly, the drinks were fantastic. 3 people last night in our party costs about $300 but we had our fill. Definitely classic upscale Boston sushi restaurant with the price tag to go with it BUT the quality is top notch. Would love temperature of the food to be tighter"
"The restaurant is really nice. We came for an esrly dinner and it was not crowded. Vicky was our server who made some great recommendations. We ordered Salmon dumplings and Lovebites for appetizers. They were very tasty and refreshing. My husband and I each ordered a different Omasake sets. We enjoyed them very nuch. We wish there were more courses. We finally ordered the Malaysian lampchops ro finish. They were so delicious. Everything was wonderful and perfectly cooked. The service was amazing. We strongly recommend the restaurant."
"Loved our experience! Food and drinks are so imaginative. Staff was amazing. First time trying uni and a5 Wagyu - beyond delicious! Definitely recommend"
"Friendly staff, but nothing special. Favorite is still the flaming salmon. Sushi was ok. Not the best and not the worst. Quality on par with the price. I just thought it was odd we had to request for soy sauce to go with the sushi."
