Reviews of Animal Eye Care of New England
"Dr. Jurk sets the standard for veterinary eye care. She is a brilliant vet, with the rare combination of authentic care and concern for the animal. Thorough, patient, and completely informative, I cannot recommend her practice highly enough. Her staff is also excellent and professional."
"Came to Animal Eye Care in a rather roundabout way by finding that my Vizsla's original eye surgeon was there for a short time. Decided to stay with Dr. Jurk and her staff, due to their professionalism along with the laid-back personalities. For me to drive 2hrs. from the Boston area, is well worth the ride, dogs enjoy it also! Thank you Dr. Jurk and all her staff, Happy Holidays to you!"
"If you are going to a specialist, expect to pay what the service is worth. Little Nes (Hebrew for Miracle) was missing an eye when I got her. What we didn't find out till much later was that the eye had never been removed. The dead eye was still in the socket, and still causing her pain. My vet offered to take it out, but warned me that there was a real risk of her going blind from the surgery. After all, they would be operating on the optic nerve, right outside the brain. When I asked about a specialist, they immediately said Animal Eye Care of New England. A simple statement of fact: AECNE cost more than doing it at my local vet would have. But it was worth it. She can see, and she's clearly not in pain anymore. She's started rubbing her head on me to show affection, which she had never done before. Presumably the dead eye would have hurt her if she had. They were professionals, they clearly knew what they were doing, and they were honest about costs. They actually refunded me a few dollars when it turned out they didn't need some of the supplies they had included in their original estimate. I hope to never need their services again, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back if I did, nor to recommend them to a friend."
"Nobody better than Dr. Jurk and her staff! I fostered, then adopted, a pug from a hoarding, cruelty case. She had to have an eye removed due to trauma. Even though I live in Southern NH now, I drive to Animal Eye Care as there is no one else I would trust with this precious baby's eyes. Update: we came to see everyone here for follow-up. It's an amazing team and Dr Jurk is the best. They are well worth the 2-hour drive and the traffic jams I encounter along the way."
"If I could give them 6 stars, I would, and they deserve it. Dr. Jurk and her team are second to none. Every person there is compassionate and professional - from the people at the front desk, to everyone that looked after my dog during his appointment today. They took their time and explained all possible outcomes. Even the care instructions after the exam were perfectly detailed. Thank you..."
