Reviews of Kisaki Japanese Cuisine
"This was a birthday excursion for my husband's birthday. We ordered several options off the all you can eat menu. We did not get instructions, just handed a paper, pencil and drink menu. Few things...the drinks are served in beer glasses. No tiny drinks. And 10 bucks! The meal was delicious, for the most part. I did not enjoy the miso soup. It tastes like fish broth, not like other miso I have had. The sushi was great! They had some lovely non-sushi choices. I got the short ribs and tempura sweet potato which was delicious. The salmon tartare was okay. (I interiorlike salmon but hub wanted it.) The outer edge was rolled in a panko type covering and that was good. The interior was like..salmon mousse? I'd say...and I hated that texture.. Over all most things were good. Do not order more than you can eat. Also remember instead of checking off the boxes on the menu, write the number of servings you are requesting! Desert was fried ice cream, which I generally love. This was tasty but the batter is too much. Like an actual 1/4 inch of batter. It took away from the deliciousness, unfortunately. Overall it was good."
"We came to the restaurant while visiting Manchester. The place is located just across from our hotel. It was a spacious restaurant with a nice dining area and sushi bar. We had Julie wait for our table, and she did a fantastic job! They offer all-you-can-eat for $36. Hubby chose that while I ordered yaki soba and some appetizers. Hubby ordered sushi sashimi, all-you-can-eat, and sushi rolls. There was so much food that he couldn’t eat, but he called all he could eat. Do you get it? My noodle was not bad but less of the Japanese spice flavor. The tempura and shumai were pretty good. The presentation of the sushi sashimi dinner looked great. I tried some pieces of Hubby’s dinner to see whether it was worth it. If you’re hungry, I think it works! At the night's end, we ordered two ice cream cups, one matcha and one vanilla fudge for each. Now that I could eat just once! Nice experience! We’ll probably try other dishes the next time we return to Manchester."
"Overall nice experience. Each sushi chef make things little differently so don't order too much. For the first round the sashimi are thick slices and sushi has smaller portion of rice (good). But the second round sushi have larger portion of rice per piece making it harder for us to finish towards the end. Service was little slow during rush hours."
"11-04-23: Update David and I decided to go again and had the all you can eat Sushi. For $36 each it is well worth the experience. We definitely didn’t eat enough to justify the price tag from a quantity stand point but for the variety you have access to and the ease at which you can try a variety of small portions it is so worth it. I’m changed my 4 Star to five primarily due to the exceptional service we received tonight. Maria was amazing! Even though the restaurant was packed she managed to stop by our table several times to take our orders and check up on us. Well I’ve heard so many good things about Kisaki and wanted to try it. I am so grateful that David treated me to dinner out here. The sushi was very good but I wouldn’t expect any less quality for the high price tag they feel the experience is worth. Definitely overpriced for Manchester given the atmosphere as well as service leaves much to be desired. I believe like other popular Asian cuisines in town the high reviews is due to a local population that have never had the experience of eating in Boston, certainly not San Diego or even Japan. I enjoyed everything I tried and found the presentation well done but if they are to justify the expense I recommend investing in the interior and their wait staff. If you can’t get to Boston and haven’t been check it out but here are other local Japanese restaurants serving up similar quality at a better value."
"We enjoyed our visit and had some good food. We went the all you can eat route and tried just about one of everything which was fun. The Miso soup and maki rolls were great! Fried ice cream was a first for my son. It was a big hit so we had to order a second round. I recommend going to Kisaki and will go back when in the area."
