"We did a quick overnight here on Thanksgiving day, and enjoyed our stay! Jennifer is a friendly and charming host. The Chestnut House is like a mini-museum, with beautiful artwork, stained glass, and rugs made by the owner's talented family. The spirit of all the creativity generated a lot of positive energy throughout the space. The location is central; just a few blocks walk from the ferry, and the price was very reasonable."

"Excellent stay at the Chestnut House. Ian and Jennifer were so friendly and welcoming. The house itself is clean and well-kept, but also has lots of personality with many original paintings, hand-made rugs, and the like. The location is perfect: an easy walk to/from the wharf, yet on a charming side street. One thing to be aware of is that there’s a fair amount of truck activity on the street in mornings, what with trash pick-up, deliveries, etc. We’re early risers so it wasn’t a big deal for us, but it could be annoying, I suppose, if you like to sleep late. I’m so glad we chose the Chestnut House for our stay and look forward to returning!"

"We landed late in the jet last night and had rooms at the Inn next door. When no one showed up at the front desk we thought we were out of options. My friend saw a light on and walked next door to the Chestnut House. The nice guy that lives at the Chestnut House said he had 2 rooms available for very affordable pricing. Great stay and the beds were out of this world comfortable."
