"Did not stay here. Just went for a drink. Downstairs bar would have been a great atmosphere if they had one guitarist. But they had an extremely loud band which was too much for the small space. Impossible to talk. We did not stay. We went to the upstairs bar for one and we were able to have a conversation."
"My friends went for an ornament exchange. We were introduced to Shannon the server. Shannon really added to the eating experience. The menu options made it so difficult to select. The choices all sounded good. Brunch is served from 11-2. My friends had customized Bloody Marys. These came loaded with different things they selected (shrimp, Celery, bacon, peppers, onions....) My friend likes her spicy, she ordered a halapeno infused vodka. My other friend said it was one of the best he had ever had. There was also a bucket of bubbly and fruit juice...really great. For entrees I had the chicken and waffles. The waffles were light and served with hot honey. The chicken was battered and the meat was very juicy. The fruit "cup/bowl" was meh. The was a solid 8. The views from the dining room were beautiful looking over Onset Beach. The bathrooms were spotless. The whole event was great."
"I haven't stayed in this hotel but we did attend the restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner. We sat at the bar and ordered. Food arrived promptly and our bar staff was friendly and helpful. Drinks were good but a little steep in price ($10 for Tanqueray) for the area. Given the atmosphere and the view, this is forgivable. The food was good, though also a bit on the high side. The wedge salad (picture attached) for $17 was actually the highlight of our meal. That's not to say the other food wasn't good, but the presentation and taste of the salad was excellent. A perfect combination of balsamic and blue. The design of the bar area is a bit unfortunate because it bottlenecks at the entry to the bar area. This would not have been too much of an issue except they decided to also place small tables there too, exacerbating the problem (and also making one of the exits difficult to access - yikes). To add to the unfortunately compact design of the bar, there were too many bar stools at the bar for them all to be comfortably occupied. We had to remove a bar stool and place it against the wall just to be able to sit down. The parking can be a bit of a challenge, they have only about 12-15 spots in their lot which is deceptively one way (come around the back, the spots are slanted for entry from the rear). Overall, I would definitely dine here again."
"We enjoyed our stay at Glen Cove, and they have created an excellent venue for live music in their basement, the 1886 lounge. Dinners are large portions, and very good. The rooms in good condition for an older property, and the hotel staff were accommodating."
