"My stay at The Merchant was absolute perfection from start to finish. The hotel and staff are outstanding. I stayed in the George Washington room on the second floor and it couldn't have been better. The room was very clean, quiet, comfortable, and had lovely views. The bedding was so cozy. The fireplace was perfect for an early November night. I loved the thoughtful snacks and drinks that were available 24/7. The hotel's central location made going to dinner and sightseeing so easy. I can't wait to stay again."

"This was my husband’s and I first time in Salem, MA and it was the best experience we could have hoped for. The Merchant was a definite help to making the trip such a success. The staff are so kind and helpful, they make baked goods for the guest so the building always smells delicious. Our room was so cozy and perfect for us. Where the Merchant is located, traveling around Salem was a breeze as it’s so close to all the shops and restaurants. When we come back, and we will, we’ll definitely be staying at the Merchant again."

"My family and I just stayed at The Merchant for our first visit to Salem and it was so lovely! I love that the character and charm is still in tact but with all of the modern comforts you could want, (I was immediately searching for the sheets they use because they were so soft and comfortable!) All of the food and beverage items were so yummy, from the parfaits and pastries, to the hot apple cider, you could tell a lot of thought and care went into the selections. We also took advantage of several of the common areas during our stay. The balcony outside of my parents room was so nice at the end of the day to just sit back and relax with a night cap, and we also gathered in the downstairs sitting area and enjoyed the fireplace as well. As far as location goes, it couldn't have been better! We were right in the center of where we always needed to be, which made walking everywhere super convenient. I would HIGHLY recommend The Merchant to anyone looking for a place to stay in Salem, it really added something special to our trip."
