"Show up here for dinner and get a full performance from the Roslondale proletariat. Amazing pizza loud atmosphere 4 kids in tow. It was chaos but we persevered. And everyone was wicked friendly."
"The Pleasant Cafe is an institution. Simple but delicious comfort food served in a remarkably preserved setting. You'll feel like you're back in time. Caters to locals. Pizza is legit!"
"Pleasant Cafe has a huge loyal following and it’s a really cool time capsule of a place. I saw the photo for prime rib and mad a special trip to try it. The problem with calling a piece of cooked meat as prime rib is misleading. If you cook a piece of rib eye like a boiled meat and douse gravy on it does not make it a prime rib. Prime rib is prized for low heat, long time cooking. Unfortunately, the prime rib I got was a braised meat. Unfortunately terrible to eat. I ate as much as I could stomach but wished I had ordered a sandwich or something else that was easy for the kitchen. My husband got a chicken salad sandwich which was fine. The Greek salad also was just ok. The salad dressing was good. The fries have a coating to make them crunchy so that was good. The place was short staffed as well. I would never go back especially since I live in Cambridge, but I can see why people would go there for pizza and beer or something like that."
"Well worth the stop this evening. The dedicated, paved, free off-street parking lot across the street was a nice surprise. Their friendly staff was on their game. The food (chicken/eggplant parmigiana) was tasty - just a little over-cooked. The atmosphere was fine - though the decor is well dated. We’d go back…"
"Pizza is really soggy and the toppings are really messy. Easily the type of pizza that burns your mouth so beware. Not sure if I would ask for crispy next time or well done as this one tastes burnt but the top is undercooked."
