"Always nice to walk into the Wayside Inn and be greeted with a smile! Very welcoming, warm and friendly. With plans made long before our stay, we appreciated the communication and updates. Like any business there are challenges with vendors and staffing, but our stay was seamless, the family were always gracious, and we felt appreciated. Location is perfect, close enough to all the places in Newport we wanted to see, but far away enough that we escaped the noise and crowds. A wonderful inn!"

"As a former Newport Local, I was looking for accomodations that suited my "champagne tastes"....on a $25 Bottle of red budget! I was turned on to the Inn from a friend who had numerous friends and family stay at the wayside...with rave reviews. As we arrived, it all made sense. Lorraine and Kate were as wonderful as they were on the phone and were available for our minimal needs every time. We stayed in the library and the attached private porch and pool access were unbelievable! The 14 foot ceilings and small mansion charm will fill your senses. The home is large enough that guests can all be present, but not on top of each other. One thing that stood out was EVERY time I came "home" there was someone visiting with the staff as if they were old friends. Great conversations during GREAT breakfasts, the way a true B&B should provide. The location cannot be beat, and parking and walking to everything made our stay so stress free. If you're looking to empty your wallet and find a thousand things wrong with your stay, this is not the place for you. If you want to find a gem in the heart of Newport that you will want to keep as your own best kept secret, then book your stay. Thank you Lorraine for everything, I can't wait to tell you we're coming back!!!! Cons...a second ice bucket. Oh the humanity!!!"

"My husband and I enjoyed our stay at The Wayside Inn. The accommodations were very comfortable, the home is bursting with charm and history. Lorraine our host and Kate were incredibly pleasant and helpful. Breakfast each morning was delicious and the treats were prepared wonderfully. The location was excellent as we were able to walk to nearly anything that we wanted to do or see. We will be back for sure, thank you Lorraine!"

"I can not say enough about the accommodations and more importantly the warm and friendly atmosphere that way extended to my family during our stay with Lorraine at the Wayside Guest House in Newport RI. We were staying in Newport to attend my son’s graduation from Salve University. We stayed in the Carriage House which was perfect for the five of us. It affords the perfect amount of comfort and separate family space with a well equipped efficient kitchen. My parents stayed in the Library that was on the first floor in the main house. This room was really special and very comfortable. They really enjoyed getting a taste of the history and elegance of a bygone era. We all enjoyed our excellent breakfast offerings that were served with warmth and pride in the very comfortable dining room in the main house. Lorraine saw to it that we had plenty of everything. The offerings were delicious and very well presented. Lorraine was on hand to chat with us and share her unique take on her family’s history and pride of ownership of this very unique family oriented establishment. Thank you again Lorraine for making our special weekend even more memorable. We were so comfortable and felt like we were staying with family. We highly recommend the Wayside Inn as a very approachable and accommodating place to enjoy while visiting Newport."

"Two night stay in April 2018. Excellent location. We did not use our car once and walked to everything we wanted to see, including restaurants. Quiet at night. Large, comfortable rooms, we stayed in #4. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. The building has an interesting history. The owner and staff were great, friendly and warm without being intrusive. I will not hesitate to book again."
