Gentle Dental Jamaica Plain

"Dentists are nice and personable but the receptionists are a bit rude. Only woman at the desk who was kind and worked with me was Nancy. She explained costs, answered questions I had in a kind manner and I never felt like a bother. I dont know the name of the other lady at the desk but a couple times I've called she was quick/short with me, kind of made me feel like I was an inconvenience and was quick to hang up the phone. One small issue I had was getting my dental plan emailed to me and after inquiring about it for a couple weeks, I had them send it to another email and turns out they had my email spelt wrong on file. The woman I spoke to gave me attitude, made it seem like me having her resend the info was a bother to her and she was quick to hang up. When I came in person, I had Nancy check me in and help me out and she was able to change my email on file and was very sweet about it. The other lady was far from being a people person and has poor customer service like why even work front desk? Every time I have to call, I'm just hoping I get Nancy and not the other woman. Two different dentists gave me conflicting information regarding which dental plan I would need but I understand things happen. Overall the dentists were kind to me but it makes the world of a difference when your first interaction with the company is distasteful and makes it hard advocating for services you need."

"I went to Gentle Dental a decade ago. I had a tooth removed by a young BU trained dentist that a more experienced dentist subsequently told me was removed unnecessarily. The screw for the implant was too short and the implant became essentially useless. When I called this office recently for the implant manufacturer's name, the office didn't even try to help. They just said we don't have those records. I think the office is more like a beauty salon where dentists rent the chairs so no continuity of care and certainly poor record keeping. Not the best quality dentists either judging my my experience."

"Another waisted appointment. Took a day off work, traveled for an hour in horrific travel. Only to be told they couldn’t do my appointment because they missed a step in the process. I have lost complete confidence in this place. Its one thing after another. So fed up!"

"All of the staff at this branch are lovely! They were really interested in me and my dental work, and made me feel really welcome! They explained to me differing types of insurance and always seemed willing to keep the price I pay as low as possible, which was really lovely! My cleaning was fantastic, and the lady that did it was really kind and kept me calm throughout the entire appointment. It's been a few days and my teeth still feel as clean and strong as they did when she first did it! I will return before I leave just so I can go home with fantastic teeth! Thank you so much :)"
