Reviews of Four Points by Sheraton Norwood
"I stay at this hotel often and I’ve never had an issue with the staff. Today, my key would not work on the door (which I later learned was because one of the kids put the latch in the door). I went to the front desk to let them know the key would not work and LYNDA, the woman I spoke to, was incredibly rude. I let her know the card was near a phone and perhaps that is why it did not work and she rudely stated that it was not because of that and I said okay, I was not sure I am just trying to provide you with all of the information. She then asked me for my ID to get a new key and I said it was in the room and she rudely said well she could not give me a key. I am in gym clothes coming from breakfast, why would I have an ID on my person? LYNDA then said well we can’t give you a room key. I’m now standing there in disbelief. At this time LYNDA turned her body sideways and became dismissive in her words and body language. Before providing the solution which was walking up with one of her colleagues to get my ID, she had to make sure was rude, dismissive, and ignorant with her body language and words first. She then asked her colleague to walk me to my room to get my ID. Why was that not immediately the solution? What was the attitude for? Her demeanor and tone were incredibly inappropriate. She is not suited to be at the front greeting people. Again, I’ve always been assisted and welcomed by very friendly employees and I’ve never had any issues during my stays at this hotel. LYNDA should probably be moved to an non-front facing position. I appreciate the security and safety concerns, but LYNDA could have started with the solution, instead of being incredibly rude and disrespectful. 01/20/2024 In response to management, as I stated in my review, I understand and appreciate the safety guidelines, but those guidelines do not provide your staff with a license to be rude and disrespectful and turn their body away from a customer before providing a solution. I also want to note that while I sat in the lobby waiting for my cousin to check out of her room, LYNDA was incredibly unprofessional in the front talking loud enough for me to hear while seated in the waiting area complaining about certain colleagues, the schedule, and more. I’m going to say it again, LYNDA should not be interacting with customers. Her behavior was some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced."
"I didn't stay at the hotel but I provided sound (PA) and was the musician for a 3 evening event held here. Staff was friendly, polite and helpful... and the hall proved to be safely secured during unscheduled times, allowing me to leave equipment for less transport and setup each day."
"I don't travel all that much, but enough that I can recognize great service when I receive it. So many hotels these days have cut back on staff to save a buck. My wife and I were impressed that the property was so well-staffed. The room was very comfy. Here are a couple examples of excellent service. We had breakfast at the hotel. My wife and I are vegan, so we stuck with a few items at the breakfast buffet that appealed to us. The staff in Zachary's noticed and charged us for a continental breakfast, not the full buffet, and did so without being asked. When we checked out at the 4:00am to catch an early flight, I managed to leave my headphones in my room. I called from the airport when I discovered my oversight and bright-and-early Linda immediately dispatched someone to the room, got the headphones, and they were shipped back to me...the same day. When we visit the area to spend time with family (granddaughters!) there are properties that are closer...but we tried the Four Points and were most impressed. The extra 10 minutes' drive is a very small price to pay for such good service and a most comfy room. Thanks, all y'all!"
"Let me enlighten you, having toiled in the hospitality trenches, front desk no less, for five plus years – heed my words: STEER CLEAR OF THIS GODFORSAKEN HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. You think my critique is harsh? Think again. I was part of a wedding party that booked numerous rooms for my sister's big day. All rooms were under her name, the bride. Common sense, right? Wrong. Little did I know, this inflexible, unyielding hotel had no room for reason. In the aftermath of the wedding festivities, as we, the guests, returned to our rooms, I found myself locked out of mine after a brief detour to the bride and groom's suite. A simple request for an extra key turned into a nightmare courtesy of Del, the Night Receptionist. I provided the room number and the bride's last name, my twin sister, mind you. Yet, that wasn't sufficient for the Night Agent extraordinaire. Rolling his eyes, he declared, 'No, if you're not registered, no help for you.' I, in vain, explained my role as the bride's brother, part of the wedding party. But Del was impervious to reason. 'I can NOT help you,' he spat back. Frustrated, I disclosed my own experience as a hotel front desk agent, expecting empathy. Instead, he summoned security. Flabbergasted and angry, I vowed to return with ID and room key for a mere apology. But Del, oh, he remained steadfast in his rudeness, citing some absurd 'policy.' In all my globetrotting and hospitality experience, never have I encountered such blatant insolence. This hotel, with its preposterous policies and contemptuous staff, deserves no patronage. From the depths of my heart, I hope they reform, but as it stands, no wedding party should subject themselves to this establishment, period.""
"I attended a two day training in the conference center and stayed at the hotel for two nights. The facilities are modern and very clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the food at both Zachariah's and One Bistro was so good. The snacks and beverages supplied in the conference center were also great! I would recommend this hotel to my friends, family and colleagues."
