"I went to Walkin pets for several items for an Irish Wolfhound who had a back injury. The person I spoke to on the phone didn't seem the most knowledgeable and the business is within driving distance. The room we used to fit my girl to her harness was probably fine for a small dog but not big enough for my large hound, we were constantly having to walk over her. I wanted a harness, a boot to help her keep her toe up and a pair of boots for traction. I also asked about wheelchairs in case we ended up needing one. They did not have boots to fit my girl. We did get the toe up thing that we have not used. We also got a harness. This is the worst lift assist harness I have ever used. I used it for a day then stopped using it and just now started using it again more consistently. I just spent an hour taking the darned thing apart. This harness has large foam/rubber tubes approximately 1.24 inches in diameter with a hole in the center that the straps go through to help support the dog when you lift and prevent chafing but they are honestly so big and bulky and the straps get twisted inside of them and it is impossible to clean. These tubes are about 14" long meant to protect the inside of her legs from having straps chaffe. However, this tubing also seems to make it more difficult for a dog with limited mobility in the rear to get up as these tubes were poking into her abdomen. I would also note that the clamps do not feel well made so I have concerns there as well and it appears to be rightfully so as it appears in reading the reviews others have had issues with the hardware. After a solid week of using this thing I just took the thing apart. This harness is the support system for their wheelchairs and hooks into the frame of that item. It has a pile of extra hardware on the harness for use with the wheelchair (which we do not have) I cant imagine it is comfortable for her to lay down with all these extra plastic pieces so I just spent an hour taking this harness apart and removing the straps that would connect into a wheelchair. I also ordered a help-em up harness. I cant wait for that to arrive. I had considered purchasing one of the wheelchairs from walkin pets as it is a walk in chair and my dog has some limited rear mobility but the support system for their wheelchairs uses this harness and honestly I just hate the harness so much I will be headed to Eddies Wheels in Massachusettes for the wheelchair. They are more expensive but the quality is so much better On a positive note the people were friendly."
"OK so I did write a bad review because the boot I purchased broke after a few times of my dog wearing it But immediately they contacted me and replaced the boot. Did not have to return the broken one either. So I am changing my review to 4 stars. Thank you for making sure your customers are satisfied with their purchase."
"Shady company that doesn't stand behind their products. I ordered a wheelchair for my dog in Feb 2023. In July, one of the buckle clasps broke on the harness. I should note that the clasp fits poorly over the aluminum struts on the chair - a clear design flaw that they didn't address prior to production. I called Walkin pets, waited on hold with 2 people in the queue for nearly a 1/2 hour. The representative seemed nice enough until she told me it would be $40 to replace the harness. I told her that it was clearly a material defect with the plastic on the clasp (I'm a mechanical engineer) but no use - she was unapologetic that I needed to pay up. She even offered to sell me expensive expedited shipping (LOL - thanks!). Throughout this entire process, I was also continually asked to purchase upgrade items to my chair. Irritating as I just wanted a remedy to my broken harness. She would not yield on this so I mentioned that I was going to leave a poor review for their quality and customer service. In response she just hung up on me. I didn't yell or become irate - I only expressed that I was disappointed at their unwillingness to stand behind the quality of their expensive chairs, Pretty disrespectful to just hang up, but reading other comments/reviews it appears this place is only interested in separating you from as much money as possible and won't help you if you have a problem. So not only do they make a poor quality product, they disrespect you and make you pay more $$ just to keep their poorly designed product functioning. If you find an alternative, I suggest you go with it. These guys are the kind of company that you want to avoid."
"Walking pets was so helpful with my dog and his needs the put a chair on him and off he went it was that easy they are so sweet there. They help so many good pets. Morgan was especially a good helper. Thank you again handy cap pets now we can go on our aventures."
"I’m borrowing the shown walkin wheels wheelchair for my 11+ yo German Shepherd who I think may have DM. But it didn’t have any directions and needed some additional parts, so I was overwhelmed. The online chat person was very nice, but I never heard back with a resolution to our discussion. However, I was able to figure out what I needed on my own, because of their excellent online articles and videos in the help and q&a sections. I bought the additional items, which I thought were fairly price and arrived as planned. Highly recommend this wheelchair, as it is extremely customizable (both with the parts that come with it, but also with optional different sized parts, accessories, and the ability to add front wheels). It is very lightweight and easy to use (after some practice)."
