Reviews of Sonesta ES Suites Providence - Airport
"Ok. I stay here quite often ..I’ve had several issues whether it’s the heat, shower, musty smell of pets and cigarettes, but never left a negative review!!! This time I actually had to kill bugs, but never called to complain! This takes the cake though!! My BF and I leave for 10 min. Housekeeper comes in to clean my room, all of my personal belongings and food is all throughout the room , I guess she assumed we were checking out! Proceeded to clean and pack up my belongings. Threw away all of my personal items in bathroom and my dinner that was in the kitchenette. And then had the nerve to go to outside trash can like I was going to eat the food she threw away. Two rings of mine are missing, she claims she never saw them!!! Which is pretty hilarious seeing that it was next to all my personal stuff she threw away! Management offered me one night of stay (and we will deal with the housekeeper) like that is compensating me for my loss!!! I am highly upset and offended! This place could use a refresher course on customer service /satisfaction!!!! The only + was The head of houskeeping was very sincere!!"
"If I could give this place negative stars I would. I booked it based on the photos and the rooms are completely disgusting. Before we even arrived the manager called 3x trying to cancel our room on us. I booked through Expedia and she decided not to try and move my family of 5 to a room with a single king sized bed. That was my first clue. She called two more times over the next days including right before we checked in and I kept reminding her I was the same person. We were staying for one night so it didn’t need to be the Taj Mahal. I didn’t care. We needed a quick place to stay on an overnight trip. The carpets were filthy, sticky brown and red substances on the carpets and any surface with fabric is basically stained and dirty. We were given a bottom room and I had zero issues with this. Above us was supposedly a woman with teenagers was staying a single night also and it was fine in the short time we visited the room on arrival. When we came back we settled into bed and we were woken up around midnight by the sound of people either partying or trying to jump through the floor. It was so loud we honestly thought they were having a party. I tried to use the room phone to call the front desk. The phone didn’t work. kindly called whoever was in charge from my cell and asked that they make sure they weren’t doing anything insane and he said he would by 1:00 am the noise had only gotten worse. I’ve never experienced this in a hotel before to these degree. It was so loud it sounded like a wrestling match above us. I called again and he basically said I can move my 3 very small children to another room on the cold in the middle of the night and there’s nothing he can do. If he called the police which is not what I wanted they won’t do anything. I told him I didn’t expect him to call the police I also have children but that at 1 am they should be able to pack it in to be courteous to the other patrons. He basically said unless you move there’s nothing he can do. He said 3x that I declined to move but I was never offered another room on site that was sufficient. He just kept saying that I declined and he kept talking over me. This place is a joke and it’s absolutely disgusting and I won’t be sleeping tonight, just waiting for my kids to wake up so we can check out first thing. Also the amount of people loitering outside this place is alarming at all hours of the night. The next morning we realized the coffee maker was broken and extremely moldy inside, and the “free breakfast,” was void of food by 7:30 even though they said from 7-9am. 8:15 it was still empty of anything edible. A few bagels and an empty hot plate. Stay away at all costs. The “management,” are rude. The rooms are filthy. The atmosphere is shady."
"Been coming here for 2 years for my annual friendsgiving cause we go to maine for college so this is our only chance and place where everyone can meet. We never had a problem years prior with this even when when we reserved our room we mention every time “ we are having a gathering for friendsgiving and we would prefer being around other empty rooms than people to not deal with the complaints” which they did not do this year because we were interrupted by a harsh knock by the “property manager” who 1.) did not introduce himself at first 2.) immediately was very hostile with us and called the police even though we cleared out legit everyone and had us kicked out of the room. I wish i knew his name so I could direct it towards him but I can give you a lovely description. white larger male w/ no form of identification that he was actually the property manager. Overall we have been coming here every year but forget it after this experience!"
"The rooms are great. However the service is lacking. When I checked in the girl acted really inconvenienced because she had to change my room because I had requested a first floor room because they have no elevator and I have a 10 day stay so lots of stuff, and they put me on the second floor. Day 6 into my stay I had to go ask for toilet paper because I did not have an extra roll. That was not a big deal when I asked her for extra towels because I was only giving two she told me that the housekeeper has changed them when they clean my room. I explained to her that nobody had been in my room all week. She told me I had to wait for housekeeping. Other than that the place is very nice and comfortable with lots of space. And I would definitely choose this hotel again. But they definitely need to think about when people are staying more than a night or 2. I mean what if my husband was with me? they're going to tell me that he has to wait till housekeeping comes to take a shower because I've already used the towels?"
"All I can say is the kitchen staff Maria, is amazing super nice and friendly. Food was good for this hotel. However front staff is a hit or miss... they messed up the room charge the first week over charging and then changed it the following to what it was supposed to be at originally. Didn't even refund. On top of that staying along period of time you're only supposed to get taxed once right ? No, here you get taxed per night every night .... even if you pay ahead you're still being charged taxes per night under one transaction. Check your bill! And ask before you pay and stay ! ** Pay cash!!** Also one of them doesn't speak English.m and is usually working by their self. Don't not stay in room 112 if you have kids ! Constant STRONG smoke smell. As if someone is smoking right in your room. Not sure if it was the upstairs residence or neighbor downstairs... but it seemed like it was coming right through the vents or windows. That's how strong it was. And it's constant! Like every 10-15 min! Overall it's alright just gotta make sure you're not getting overcharged by paying cash and confirming the bill ! And making sure you check the room right after checking in so you could switch rooms if needed. Also keep in mind that there are long time residence and out of state workers that stay here. And as for out of state workers who plan on staying here long term your best bet is to book an airbnb you'll save more money !"
