Colonial Hotel 625 Betty Spring Road, Gardner, MA 01440

"We got to this hotel and at first it was great. The general manager or manager was working at night was awesome but the next morning when the workers came in, they were berating my kids telling me that my kids can’t be 2 feet away from me and also we got in at 11 o’clock at night. We checked out at 11 and wanted to go in the pool. I was told I could be in the pool all day then a man With a handicap hand or something that works there came and told me I only had an hour so we stayed in the pool for an hour, then gave my children. A shower came out. The guy came out and told me I told you you only had an hour get your kids and you out of here very rude hotel. Don’t bring children there worst hotel I ever been to."

"Good evening. My fiance and I lead a very busy lifestyle with a young teenager and elderly parents. We recently moved to Gardner and life has been nonstop. We decided to take one night to ourselves and thought this was the perfect place. Price was advertised as $136 a night with a $100 deposit that was supposed to be refunded. Never received it. $236 for a dark moldy smelling room. Thought we would grab some dinner and drinks and everything is overpriced. We ordered the nachos that were burnt and bland. Worst experience we've ever had as a couple. Money doesn't grow on trees and a refund was promised. Made the call to find out where it is and the woman who answered was extremely rude and gave no explanation except for more taxes. Then said we would receive our $100 refund. Still haven't seen it which means small claims court may be an option. There was a wedding going on and we thought it looked very romantic and the perfect place for us. Unfortunately, after listening to front desk staff laugh about the bride we have changed our minds about this venue. Very disappointed in our one date night in a year! Please return the deposit"

"Literally my only complaint is that no one is allowed to play the lobby piano. I've stayed in 3 different rooms over the past few years and they're always cozy, spacious and immaculate. Very nice atmosphere. My favorite parts are the pool and hot tub and I just recently discovered the sauna. Also i love the game room which has air hockey among other fun things. (The fitness center looks decent but I never remember to bring proper gym footwear.)"

"Overall the experience was great, attitude of staff was great. We stayed in one of the more luxurious suites for the night of our wedding reception and booked a block of rooms for our out of town guests. One small annoying thing was we forgot our toothbrush and asked for one at the front desk, and as many hotels and inns provide toothbrushes and other small toiletries complimentarily, we were surprised to be charged $3 each. We felt annoyed that we were good paying customers only to be "nickel & dimed" over a toothbrush. Other than this annoying thing, we were very happy."

"I just had my wedding at the Colonial Hotel in May of 2023 and everything was perfect! The staff went above and beyond to help me customize certain aspects of the wedding and the food was amazing! working with Mary and her staff was so seamless and easy! They made us feel like we were the only wedding, even though there were 2 weddings the day before ours! Thank you so much, Mary! This was the best wedding EVER!!"
