Reviews of The Century House, Ascend Hotel Collection
"We enjoyed our stay at the Century House Hotel. We were in Albany for work and stayed 2 nights. The room was quite nice, with a little loveseat included. The bathroom was laid out well. And there were extra blankets in the room! The heating/cooling machine actually worked. All good things! We were very happy with the breakfast as well. For being included, it was much nicer than what other hotels offer for breakfast. Hot, fresh and homemade food! The first morning it was homemade corned beef hash - amazing! The little hot towels were a cute idea, and the soup changed each day. Thoughtful and unique touches."
"I have been staying here every weekend for approximately two months with my boyfriend. We use it as a relaxing getaway. Usually nice and relaxing. Great staff. Quiet always. But not so much last night. The people above us were slamming on the floor. Up and down the room. This went on non stop for over 20 minutes at after 10pm. I then called the front desk to express my concern and to ask them to please quiet down as people are trying to sleep. He said he would be right on it. I gave it another 20 minutes of banging and then walked to the front desk. I told her what was going on and she said she knew and was working on it. She’s one of the sweetest employees by the way. So after that it just got progressively worse. I called up front to express my displeasure and he said he was going back up. Finally he calls me (still banging and ruckus), and says they are all drunk and offered to move our room. So let me get this straight. I need to uproot my room at 11pm that we have been at all settled in for almost two days, because they are not following common curtosey rules of the hotel? He then told me he can’t do anything because they paid. That struck a nerve to be honest. I paid too. I deserve peace and quiet at 11pm. So I then told him, I can start a ruckus then since I paid? He then told me he would try and take care of it again. Around 11:30, the noise calmed down but was still present but enough to go to sleep. This has completely turned me off from the century house and we won’t be returning. Just because someone pays, does not give them the right to disrupt people."
"Loved our stay! One of a kind. Never been to a hotel that offered complementary soup and hot towels from 2-10pm. Free breakfast the next morning was unbelievable. Fresh fruit, sausages, eggs, and real plates and silverware. All service with a smile. Highly recommend!"
"We stayed here on our way to Maine and are so glad we did. The people at the desk were helpful and had a sense of humor which we always enjoy. The room was pleasant and clean. We ate dinner at the restaurant next door. It was cozy and the service was good. It was the breakfast that really stood out during our stay, the best we’ve ever had in a hotel. It was obvious that Bebe takes great pride in providing a fresh breakfast that has something for everyone including lots of fresh fruit, eggs, waffles, breakfast meats and toppings galore. Very impressive!"
"Very comfortable. Great walking trails on property. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is amazing and would accommodate nicely even restricted diets. Excellent shower. Connected restaurant is amazing. Only criticism is restaurant/tavern closes early. This is an excellent value."
