Homewood Suites by Hilton Clifton Park 42 Clifton Country Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065

"Not sure if there’s enough room to write this review, but I’m going to give it a shot. My kids came in to spend four days with me and I put them up in the Homewood suites in Clifton Park. The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are excellent. Everything is clean and the breakfast that they serve is excellent. BUT…. It is advertised as pet friendly, my son brought his dog, which is about 30 pounds or less. The only restriction he was told was that when cleaning came in the dog had to be crated, which is absolutely fine. But please note we did not request that service. He did bring a crate, however so there was no damage if he went out. Today we left the hotel room at 3 o’clock for an early New Year’s Eve dinner. We went not even 3 miles away from the hotel. We just being served our meal when my cell phone rang. It was a woman from the front desk of the hotel being very nasty, very rude, and very ignorant, explaining that somebody had called because the dog was barking for 10 minutes , and that my son would have to have the dog with him at all times and not leave him in the room. Excuse me, but pet friendly to me would mean people might expect to hear a dog bark now and then that is what dogs do. Not to have somebody very nastily. Tell you , after paying close to $800 for the room including a $75 fee for the dog fee… ruining a $250 dinner because by the time my son got back it was ice cold and he has completely lost his appetite And the poor dog had to sit in the car and it was 35° outside . I would assume pet friendly would mean that maybe the rooms would be a little bit separated from people that maybe a little sensitive to a dog barking and where do the people that are sensitive to the dog barking be treated any better than people that have paid extra to bring their family pet with them? I don’t care how nice the hotel is how clean it is or how great the breakfast is we will be checking for other places to stay in the future if that’s the way, they treat their guests. This place is a long and short term residence for many people . Do you mean to tell me if somebody has to stay there for a month and they have a dog and the dog barks or whatever these people cannot go to work or go to the grocery store without taking the dog with them? Unbelievable in my opinion pet friendly is being advertised falsely in this case! Thank you for completely ruining the visit with my son and his family!!! Happy New Year .. I sure do hope later tonight there’s no noise being New Year’s Eve when my grandchildren are trying to sleep as opposed to 3 o’clock in the afternoon!!"

"This is a nice mid-tier place with two room suites that are far more spacious than the usual cramped hotel rooms. The breakfast is ample and actually pretty good compared to most places that I have stayed. The downside: Like most hotels are doing now, they provide pillows that are non-functional. The showerheads are fixed rather than handheld which is hard to understand in 2023."

"I stayed at Hilton in Albany during my annual conference. The place was very clean and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Their gym and swimming pool were very clean and accessible. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. The hotel is located in an area near restaurants, movie theater and shopping area. I had a wonderful time staying at the Hilton. I highly recommend the Hilton to anyone whether for business or pleasure."

"Amazing hotel stay! They really made it feel like home for me after I stayed for a month. It was incredible because the manager and the staff at the front desk were upset that I was leaving. Great food for the complimentary breakfast. It’s unlike any other Hilton because they actually made food from scratch and put time and love into their trade."
