"I'm not sure what's been going on with this office with all the new staff/incoming doctor's/and the NP's leaving. From my understanding, it's under new ownership. Okay, I understand some of the changes. However, I've been seeing my particular NP for.. almost two years now (or more) and then one day I get a call and I'm told he & she have left. Not only them, but all the NP's there at the office have been replaced with two doctors. Nothing personal, but once patients/clients have a therapeutic relationship with their provider, we want to remain with THEM, because they know their patients history. One of my concerns: are the two doctors planning on taking on all of the patient load themselves, when there was 4-5 (several)NP's there before they came onboard(?). There's going to be less appointment availability, especially if one has to get in rather quickly/emergency same day call & visit. Why didn't some of the NP's stay on!? Also, ever since Mickey has left the front reception desk, customer service has went down the drain, especially on the telephone. He was polite, respectful, treated patients with kindness, attentive, funny, and had urgency to return phone calls (& PICK UP the phone!). When asked where my NP's went to practice, they said, "IDK". Hopefully a quick google search will help. Needless to say, I was upset with the changes because who really wants to start over with new providers? Mr. Melson and Mrs. Evans were wonderful to see and have for providers!"
"Everyone in this office is friendly and caring. They work with you when you need anything. They take such good care of me when I call I sometimes wonder if I am their only patient. I am so thankful for everyone and everything they do to help me."
"Discharged me because I addressed a legit concern over an issue that was their fault. Nurse lied and said I threatened her over the phone. Two other staff threatened me with police if I did not leave the office after I showed up after they refused to answer my phone calls even blatantly hanging up on me. They failed to send the correct meds with the proper dosages. They only sent 1 med that I was prescribed with only half the correct dosage. I was supposed to be taking 2 other different meds too. One of them was supposed to make sure my potassium levels did not go too low while taking the one they actually sent to the pharmacy. If my potassium levels go too low it can cause severe heart problems. I have tried to reach out afterwards no one has returned calls and when I call as soon as they see my number they answer and then immediately hang up. This is unprofessional and negligence at the least. Don’t trust this place with your health because they don’t really care in the first place."
"I will start by saying the care I have received in this office from Dr. Cockey and Melody Pairo has been exceptional. Melody is caring, and kind and I will miss her very much. I have been a patient here for over a decade. This is why the way I was treated on my last two visits was appalling and the phone call I just finished with Nicole even worse. I will finish by saying Nichole, the young man at the front desk and Anna provide horrible customer service. I had an appointment here in February 10 minutes before my appointment I called the office to say I was 5 minutes away. I was told I would not be seen because I was to be there 15 minutes before my appointment. First of all, there was a 10-minute window for the last 10 years, secondly, I had no idea of this policy, third, when I saw Melody she said what happened that day was wrong. Fast forward to June I have an appointment at 8:45 am, and was told to get there by 8:30 am, got there at 8:34 am. Anna told the young man at the front desk I couldn’t be seen. I leave and a few minutes later Nicole calls and says I can be seen after the next scheduled patient. I’m upset and tell her no. I’m going to find a provider closer to home because this situation is ridiculous. I came from Millsboro, left 30 minutes early, traffic is horrible. Road work is everywhere, a fender bender holds up traffic for 10 minutes, and gas is $5 per gallon. I came home and went to immediate. I call today 7/12/22 after calling Friday for an appointment due to reoccurring tachycardia. I wanted to be seen by Melody one last time to ask if I needed labs and ensure I have refills until seen by the new PCP. Nicole says I was taken out of the system because I was getting a new PCP. What practice allows the front desk, medical assistants, or nurses to decide if a patient can be seen by their PCP before changing practices. Have the providers in this practice forgotten about continuity of care? I’m a nurse but also a patient with an extensive medical history which includes asthma, cardiac diagnosis, and newly diagnosed HLD with no follow-up labs since beginning medication in February. I have seen the disintegration of Delmarva Internal and Family Medicine and it makes me very sad. Please note this office’s practice is not the norm If I’m at any of my other doctors at my appointment time I’m seen. Also, traffic between Millsboro and Lewes is so horrible in the summer some doctors in the same practice will give a 15-30minute window."
"Awesome doctor's office. Staff is extremely friendly. New patient appointment was less than 7 days of request. Full physical and history on first visit. Nurse and Dr. were attentive and educational. I was surprised at how much time they both spent reviewing my past medical issues and planning for future goals and care. Most Dr's are in & out in 5-10 minutes whereas they were there for however long they were needed. Total time spent at office was 45 mins. I definitely recommend and look forward to many more years at this facility."
