"Yet another billing complaint. I received a collections notice from an appointment my wife had 7 months prior. I had to google "Doctors For Emergency Services" to try to figure out who we owed and why. We pay, and file any/all bills the day they are received. The emergency room visit connected with this "walk-in" was paid in full (to Christiana Care) months ago. The collections agency formatted our address in a non-standardized way. Don't know if that was the issue or not, but I know for a fact we did not receive either of the two "billing notices" they claimed they sent. This was confirmed when I read the slew of reviews outlining identical issues. I tried to be proactive, and called the local phone number listed in a couple of the other responses to sort things out (after calling both the collection agency, and their billing department). I was told they have nothing to do with their own billing, and there was nothing they could do. Guessing the responses on here are just to save face. They are hoping that publicly giving a phone number and email will make it seem like they care. They do not care. I have never missed a bill, or had a late payment in my life. Now I have a couple hundred dollars in collections because this practice uses an incompetent third party billing company. Like other reviewers I am filing a complaint with the CFPB, and disputing the report with all three credit bureaus. I will pay the bill, as it is legitimate. I would have paid it months ago if they actually sent it. My guess is that if you are reading this, you are probably in a similar situation, and I am sorry you are having to deal with this. If you happen to be researching a walk-in care facility... avoid Doctors for Emergency Services at all costs."
"I have had to call them so multiple times to let them know that my insurance HAD paid their bills, and then send them the EOB. They seem incredibly mismanaged to keep losing the paperwork, or they just figure they can get me to pay what my insurance has already paid."
"I am here to chime in on their billing.... My daughter received a collection notice from TSI, a debt collector exactly 1 year from Date of service. In that year we received no bill from DEES. NOTHING! How dare you think it is okay to affect someones credit this way. What does your office staff do, just hand off the billing to a collection agency?"
"Their billing department has serious issues that they refuse to acknowledge and address. We NEVER received a bill and we’re in shock when we received a call from TSI debt collections agency for $34.69. They claimed they sent us 2 bills before sending it to debt collections. WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY MAIL FROM THEM. You can clearly see in other reviews, this has happened many times. When I mentioned this, they completely ignored it and refused to consider that there might be something wrong on their end. They just said their records show they mailed it. But what they didn’t anticipate is we had signed up for USPS Informed Delivery and have a record of every single piece of mail sent to us with an image of each mail. We can show them exactly what mail we received on a daily basis over the past 6 months. It proves we never received anything from them. I will be filing a complaint with the FTC, CFPB and state medical board about their practices. I can’t believe they would send patients to collections over such nominal amounts of money and not try to reach out to the patients directly to get this resolved. It’s disheartening to know they’ve been allowed to do this to patients."
"Your billing department turned over a balance for $52.67 from services rendered less than 60 days ago to a collection agency. The insurance payment was received 30 days ago. A statement was never received at my address which is on file. The collection agency stated that typically three statements are mailed to the patient. After speaking with a representative in your billing department, I was informed that there was a system error. A very poor experience followed by mediocre care in the ER."
