Reviews of Fair Hill Family Medicine Specialists
"I went here for a new pt appointment today, I was very impressed with the care I received and am very thankful I switched to this practice. I have a hard time explaining my issues to strangers but I was very comfortable and was able to receive the attention and care I need by a PCP."
"I was told by Vanessa Villar I was a hypochondriac. I’m 21 and came in with extreme exhaustion, shoulder and knee pain/crunching. Mind you, I haven’t been there for over a year and my last physical was over a year ago. Dr. Villar told me I was too young for that. I had to ask for Bloodwork. Turns out I’m Lyme Disease Positive. She has had results for days now and still has not contacted me."
"I have been with Dr. Roberts for at least 10 years. She has been able to diagnose unusual problems and treat them, and I appreciate her manner and style. It is clear to me that she cares and wants me to be the healthiest version of myself."
"I went to this office for a short time some years ago. My physician was Villar but she was out on maternity leave for most of the time so I had the unpleasant experience of dealing with Dr. Roberts. I'm not sure why Dr. Villar wasn't able to diagnose my problem, may have been a language barrier, but I believe Dr.Roberts "know it all" attitude and "lack of attention" is the reason she couldn't diagnose the real issue. When I told Dr. Villar I was urinating every 10 minutes she said "That's weird" and Roberts blamed it on anxiety. I said I must be hàving a lot of anxiety in my sleep because I have to get up at least 4 times at night to use the bathroom and she just gave me a disgusted look. After explaining my issues to my new physician he easily picked up on the prostate infection that was throwing my potassium off and causing me to have panic attacks. All I needed was Cipro and the Infection/Panic attacks went away. Roberts was acting like I was there to get pills but I don't want pills. I want a solution to the problem. When I tried to schedule an appointment for how the antidepressants Dr Roberts prescribed were affecting me I was told the doctor Villar would be back in October and I could see her then and this was in August. Anytime you prescribe an antidepressant to a patient you should be checking up on it. If you don't want to treat males for male problems I understand. I wouldn't want to stick my finger up somebody's rear also. Recommend a urologist and don't try to drag somebody on with antidepressants."
"Going into anything with realistic expectations is important. This is a small practice that is effective in terms of the types of ailments for which you'd visit a general practitioner or D.O. They stay on schedule and, despite comments to the contrary, my experiences with Dr. Roberts have almost always been good. Like any relationship, it takes time to develop the doctor/patient connection. As a critical thinker I ask a lot of questions, but I also listen carefully to the doctor's questions and advice. If you're a "drug seeker" or just looking for someone to write a note excusing you from work for a month (unless there's a legitimate reason) you'll likely leave unhappy. Physicians are people too, they have good days and bad days. They're also very perceptive, so what you get may be reflection."
