Reviews of Institute for HEALing
"I’ve been working with Shaquetta Little Young as my therapist for awhile and she is excellent. She is always attentive and insightful, and she has really helped me to navigate difficult area of my life with hope and grace. Highly recommend this practice and of course this therapist."
"This place has to be a joke. There is no way this is a place for mental health issues and a place for "healing" when you can’t even make an appointment. How is that supposed to help with anxiety, stress, etc? I filled out a form. Finally got a call a month later from "Tammy" to make an appointment. I told "Tammy" I would call her back later. I called for two days and no one could help just to make an appointment. No thanks. I’ll stick to MBP. At least they are professional. UPDATE: idk what you are talking about because I did not miss a call. I told her I would call her back later that day and could not get in contact with anyone. Get it together."
"I started with iHeal in September and was dissatisfied with my counselor because it seemed she wanted to be more of a friend then a counselor. I requested for a new one. I was assigned to ShaQuetta and things were going great. On January 7th I was contacted by Tammy via text stating ShaQuetta wasn’t available for my appointment. We agreed upon a new date. A week before my appointment, Tammy reached out again to tell me ShaQuetta couldn’t see me. For weeks I tried to reschedule my appointment but kept being told nothing was available. I didn’t cancel my appointments but iheal wasn’t willing to do anything to get me a new one. Two months went by and no one reached out to me. If you are a counselor and notice you haven’t seen a client who you were talking to every two weeks, haven’t been to an appointment in four months, wouldn’t you reach out? My last appointment was just before the holidays (2021). I called the office to let them know how I felt and to discontinue my service. The lady who answered the phone told me she would let management know what happened because what they did with my appointments were unacceptable. She also told me I would receive a list of resources in the mail for other counseling services. It’s been over a month since that phone call and nothing. I would not recommend this organization due to the lack of communication. This is the wrong business to be in if you can’t communicate."
"My therapist was perfect. The office communication is awful from upper mangement as they are the facilitators of the program this is for both personal and professional interactions. I had to call and send several emails for simple responses. I waited a week to have a return phone call when I wanted to receive a POC therapist with experience not the intern they scheduled me with. ShaQuetta assistant director (?) asked me my availability, which I told her. She was referring me out before asking for any other possible dates regarding my schedule. When I mentioned to her about asking me for other dates she said both therapist of color do not have any openings until mid Feb mind you mid Feb would have been two weeks away. Yes, my therapist has been out on medical leave since December, but two weeks would not have caused any detriment to me. So, she said she did not want to "abandon me" wrong terminology used. Anyway ... the discharge is best for me as I do not like the lack of effective communication and unprofessional organizations especially when one is dealing with other's mental health."
"I cannot recommend this place any more. Every step of the process has been easy. I know COVID has increased waitlists everywhere, but iHeal was by far the fastest to get back to me. They believe in a holistic approach, so they have many resources available to take care of your whole self. The intake was a little bit more involved than other places, but I fully believe that it is so that the can provide the best care. Then I got matched with my therapist who is INCREDIBLE. If mine is any indication, then the practitioners are incredibly warm, empathetic, and knowledgeable. Lastly, I just started going to the clinic in person as opposed to telehealth and the location itself creates a serene atmosphere. Definitely go here if you are in need of any help."
