"Dr. Ravikumar Bhalavat is AMAZING! He ask questions, he gets me engaged, he motivates me into conversing with him. It is EXTREMELY difficult to get me talking. He digs into my mind, he offers really good suggestions. He gives me no problems in terms of prescribing me medications. I am very picky and reclusive. If he can get ME to talk, he can help anyone!"
"Every psychiatrist I have here ends up leaving so I have to go over my entire history of medication with each new psychiatrist. They should be keeping records of the medications. It makes me think they’re too lazy to even check. I tell them I can’t possibly know all of the medications because there have been so many. I’ve been experimented on and had horrible side effects like extreme anxiety, suicidal tendencies, and weight gain. I gained 30 pounds in a month with no dietary or exercise changes just because of the mood stabilizers I was put on. I stopped taking them and haven’t been able to lose the weight since. Many of the nurse practitioners and psychiatrists I’ve worked with here have been rude to me. Grace Onegbu has a harsh and abrasive personality unfit for working with mental health patients. One of the receptionists gave me a really snarky attitude when I left a message for my psychiatrist. I swear I’ve been nothing but polite when interacting with anyone from American psychiatric. I’ve been treated in a horribly unprofessional way and I expect so much better from a medical establishment."
"I received magnet therapy for depression at the American Psychiatric Center in Belair. Each session took only 20 minutes. The results were amazing. I stopped taking my antidepressant and feel great. No side effects!"
"You do get seen quickly, and when you need support someone does get back to you. But some of the drs or lpns. Don’t check your file, don’t know what you are even on before speaking to you. If you are looking for personal care this is not the place. But this is a place to be seen and get the help you need with medication management."
"I really felt like Jennifer cared about what I had to say, and she was thorough and kind. I felt really safe. Ms. Turpin also allowed me to participate in my own care plan, which is important to me. The triage nurse was also great, and everyone in reception was very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend this office to friends and family."
