"Beware!! I was in a car accident that left me with a severe brain injury and I spent 2mos in a coma. I suffer from hyperacusis and extreme depression. After a visit to the ER for suicidal thoughts I was referred to Dr Harkani. I told him of my marital troubles including physical violence, control issues that were making my life unbearable and my suicidal thoughts. The man said word for word “what do you think I can do for you? You lucky your husband take you back!” Fortunately I got help elsewhere but this could have had a very different ending"
"I WORKED WITH HIM AND HE IS UNETHICAL!!! I have worked with Dr. Harkhani and wanted to give my perspective from a professional. One of the most concerning actions I have seen him take is changing patients' true diagnosis because he is not able to get payed by insurance companies for them. So, if you ever have to transfer to another provider that false diagnosis will be in your records and you will continue to be receive treatment and medication for a false diagnosis. At times he does not even enter his notes and gets individuals interning to do his documentation. Also, he does not have an unbiased view when working with professionals or patients. He allows his cultural caste system to automatically assume if people and their lives are valuable or not. He will use this caste system to determine the energy and care he puts into your treatment. If you are a white male with a business he will provide you with the upmost respect. If you are an average income earning human being struggling with mental health and need medication management, he will talk to you like a child and belittle you. All of your symptoms are your fault and you are just dumb. He is very condescending and talks down on someone that he views as average or below his personal/caste standards. I have reported all of these concerns to higher ups in the past and have been ignored so hopefully this post will help some individuals that truly need medication management to avoid his lack of care. Dr. Venkatachalapathy may have a wait but she is caring, compassionate, and ethical! Also, if you are in the Worcester County area, their health department does have very amazing therapist and psychiatrist/NPs."
"Another psychiatrist I had for years, I did not feel she listened to some important changes in my condition. So, I presented to Tamara to begin intake process. Dr Harkhani himself greeted me and they accepted a whole pile of backup info I brought , to look at without even being on the clock. I am an old nurse myself and I know where he works at tidal health and that is very demanding now, especially since Covid. He is a good age for a dr- old enough to have good experience but not so old-burned out that he is too tired to stay up to date or either will want to quit soon. Also, Being on staff at tidal Hx means he meets top standards to maintain on staff there. I felt I had a good experience."
"This doctor decreased my medication without reason or documentation of any adverse reaction. I have be taking lithium for over 25 years safely. When I called Dr. Harkhani to report symptoms, he would not increase dosage after he decreased by 30 percent or offer alternative medication. His negligence cost me a hospitalization for 2 weeks. Once I was finally given correct meds I recovered. All of this could have been avoided had I received proper medical treatment. I will never go to this doctor again nor would I recommend him. He does not LISTEN to his patient's concerns!"
"I called Dr. Harkhani's office for help and was seen within a week. Other offices I called were scheduling 2 months out. I was advised by the staff that the doctor would review my intake information and decide if he thought he would be the doctor best able to help me, or if he thought I would be better served elsewhere. The day after leaving my info I was called and an appointment scheduled. I found the doctor to be a calm, quiet man who wants to understand your symptoms and find the best treatment. He recommended pharmacogenic testing to be sure he finds me the right treatment as I've struggled with several prescriptions. He also recommended counseling and meditation as part of my plan. I'll change my review if my experience changes, but at this time I'm very hopeful that I'll feel better soon."
