Reviews of Mid Atlantic Surgical Group
"Poor communication. Almost did the wrong procedure on me dr. Had to research was going to do a more serious one that I wasn't there for. And received a call from manager now trying to justify the 2 procedures. The two dont even go together. Would have been ok if they told me they made a mistake. Lifting bowels and having hemorrhoids removed are 2 different procedures."
"Dr. Walker is very comforting and explains everything. He takes time to listen. Amber, and Joy are also awesome to deal with. So glad to have such a caring and professional team to help me. I highly recommend them."
"Visited Dr. Bounds over a month ago as a new patient and my experience was ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING! This Doctor should not be practicing medicine or performing surgeries on anyone. I have been in medical recovery for over 2 years now, from blood clots, lymphedema & other medical concerns. Unfortunately, other than my Primary Care Physician monitoring my multiple conditions, I hadn't received ongoing care by a Vascular Specialist, which I ultimately needed. So my search leads me to Dr. Evil ( Michael Bounds). Before I explain, I will not fail to mention that ALL of the staff members I encountered, including the first desk clerk, were kind and respectful; Dr. Evil on the other hand was not! Now, keep in mind only my LEFT LEG is in recovery from clots, swelling, etc........ On top of this Doctors nonchalant, bias and very discriminatory behavior; the VERY WORST PART of this first visit was when Dr. Bounds grabbed both of my ankles, squeezing them very tightly, until I begin to feel a tingling sensation & numbness within both of my legs. At that point I had to tell Dr. Evil that I was going numb and to stop! I can not believe that he was purposely cutting off my circulation! I can't recall all of the lie he mentioned, as to why he was squeezing so tight, but I knew and his nurse (standing closely beside me) knew that this was not normal. The 2 nurses I spoke with before and during this visit was disgusted & feed up with Dr. Evil's unethical behavior. To my surprise, a week or less later I developed a raised large hard spot in my inner upper thigh area, of my left leg, along with even more pain than I was already experiencing. About 2 1/2 to 3 weeks later my right ankle (that was not in medical recovery) suffered from Harding around my entire ankle and experienced pain as well. I researched to find out if this was a common practice for a Doctor to do and it ABSOLUTELY IS NOT! Read Doctors most of the time only do this for bone fractures or for post & after surgeries. I also discovered that the large harden spot in my upper thigh (close to my knee) was a result of a pool of blood developing from lack of circulation or circulation being cut off and the harden spot is referred to as an Ulcer. In closing, if I weren't an individual who implements homeopathic & holistic practices at home, Dr. Bounds' dangerous & evil methods may have resulted in my death. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS VASCULAR SPECIALIST"
"My only complaint I was told it should be about a 30-minute surgery. It ended up being a 3 + hour surgery. I had side effects from the anesthesia and had to visit the ER the next morning at 4 am to receive a catheter. Then I had challenges with the catheter causing me more pain. I'm considering not going back. The hospital nurse was nice preop but postop she changed and stopped checking on me. I hope I never have to return to Tidal Health/PRMC. They only have a few good nurses. I seem to get an idiot nurse who happens to be overwhelmed by her job. Good luck to you in your journey to better health."
"My Rheumatologist referred me back to Dr. Wilhite for a second visit (after already having a poor experience the first time. She insisted I give him another try because I am continuing to display symptoms of vasculitis, relating to my rare autoimmune condition. He literally looked me in the face today and said .."I could read about your rare autoimmune vascular disease, but it would do no good." Then proceeded to tell me his door is open anytime if I wanted to come back so he couldn't help me. Then,he laughed. My rheumatologist sent him 18 pages of medical history summary and a note. He looked at my pictures of unexplained bruising, swelling in extremities, veins surfacing, blood vessels breaking. He touched the bruising. No further examination. He clearly did not read what the referring doctor sent him because he said he "could read up on it, but.." This doctor had chosen to not even read or research about the problems I was having before I walked in the room. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. Regardless of his Vascular Surgical skills, I wouldn't recommend him to ANYONE. He said he guessed I had been passed around from doctor to doctor. Well, I wonder why.. because doctors like him make up their minds before a patient walks in the room, that this is rare and challenging and they do absolutely nothing, except laugh at you."
