"I'm very disappointed. From the beginning, I was told that the recommended surgery was extremely painful and a hard recovery. Dr. Rather failed to mention that my pain would not be managed properly. I woke up from surgery in such agony that the nurse started providing me with Dilaudid; the pain was so bad that they had to give me three different shots at different doses. During this time of me crying because of my pain, Dr. Rather popped in so fast and didn't take the time to notice that what they had just given me wasn't working or treating my pain. But he sent me home with the same medicine anyway, knowing I wasn't reacting well to it while in the hospital. So, of course, when I get home, still not working/treating my pain, I increased the number of pills to get to a point where I would walk/move. On day three, I go into the office for a follow-up. After all, I thought something else was wrong because I shouldn't be in this much pain. But, Mr. Rather was more concerned about having issues with his medical licenses because he prescribed the wrong medicine/a medicine that I didn't react to while in the hospital. If he had spent 3 minutes with me in recovery, he would have known not to send me home with the same medicine that had no effect after surgery. I even called the night of my surgery to speak with a doctor on call to change my pain management, and they recommended I keep taking medicine, as it is a good pain relief. But if I have to take more pills than recommended, maybe it is not a good pain medicine for me. Again, very poor pain management, and because of his error, he tells me to take Advil, and you'll have to deal with the pain; he can't write another prescription. But I wouldn't have this issue if I was on the right medicine from day 1. I've had 2 C-Sections, and 2 surgeries on my arms, and I'VE never felt the level of pain I'm feeling now. I will not be going back."
