Reviews of Hartnett Physical Therapy
"My experience at Hartnett Physical Therapy has been excellent. I recently started a vigorous workout routine, and the knowledge I've been gaining from Hartnett is one of the main reasons I've been able to see results while maintaining proper form. Even during times of injury, I've been able to heal much faster thanks to the advice and guidance I have received. Dr. Jay Hartnett has the heart of a teacher! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, he understands the science yet breaks it down to help the average person implement what matters most. If you are looking to heal, learn, maintain, and grow, I highly recommend you make an appointment right away!"
"Make an appointment with Jay, he can change your life. I came to Jay at 28 years old after having three back surgeries spanning from age 24-26 in an attempt to "fix" a broken vertebrae. I was young, healthy, and very active prior to finding out my spine was broken in 2013. I attempted PT with large name places, a chiropractor, and multiple rounds of injections before and in between all three surgeries. My life was put on hold with each surgery and the doctors solution to my pain was to avoid anything that made me hurt and lots of medication. That left me avoiding everything that I loved doing. I couldn't hike, ride horses, run, do my job, or even sit or stand for any duration of time without significant pain and sciatica, and I was so heavily medicated I was practically a zombie. I was not able to live my life. Early this year I was starting the process of going into a fourth surgery, after consulting with multiple doctors who told me "you just have a bad back" and that surgery was my only option for hopefully solving my problems. I was depressed, I really did not want to live my life as I was, and I really was dreading going through another surgery and the 9 months of hoping I would heal correctly a fourth time. I met Jay, not very hopeful to start over with another physical therapist. I can honestly say that Jay saved my life, mentally and physically. I am back to doing all my activities after such a short amount of time working with Jay. I need little to no medication. And I did not need a fourth surgery. Jay does not treat me as a "back patient", he treats ME and my particular needs. Jay finds what works for me, and gives me pain relief, not what "should work for a back patient", which is how I got treated at the big chain PT places and doctors offices. Jay looks at the whole picture of how your body works, which is so important to finding out why certain parts of the body may be painful. He is so dedicated to his education, it amazes me. And in all my time with orthopedist doctors, pain management specialists, other physical therapists, and chiropractors, Jay is the first and only person who really listened to me, and not just treat me like another patient with a back issue. I wish I had met him before I went through all the surgeries. I am so thankful to have met and worked with Jay. He has given me my life back mentally and physically. Just make an appointment with him, because it could give you the life back that you want, just like it has for me. I cannot recommend him enough!!!"
"I visited Jay for the first time last week for a PT appointment. I’m a runner and have some overuse injuries that have been bothering me for a long time. Jay completed a PT evaluation and was very focused on finding the “weak links” contributing to my issues. By the time I left, we had a plan and he made sure I understood the rationale. I was really impressed with Jay’s knowledge and his approach to PT, and most importantly, I can tell he truly cares about his clients and his business. He is a runner as well, so genuinely understands not only the physical aspects of my injuries, but the mental impact of being injured and not being able to get out there and do what I love. I’ve had a lot of PT over the years for sports-related injuries, and Jay is one of the best I’ve seen."
"Hartnett Physical Therapy is the best! They provide treatment in a welcoming and relaxing setting where Jay explains everything you need to know about your issue. I recently went for a sprained ligament and Jay provided me with compassionate care, concrete steps to follow, and a plan to work my way back to yoga and running. I am so grateful for the support I found at Hartnett and enthusiastically recommend this spot for anyone seeking PT services!"
"I am a 33 year old Health and Physical Education Teacher who bases a large portion of his life in movement practices. I was an athlete growing up who competed at some of the highest levels of competition. Throughout my athletic career my body acquired a series of injuries that will forever be a part of how I move/work/compete, for the rest of my life. For the first time, at age 32 I experienced chronic lower back, neck/shoulder pain that I simply couldn't shake. After a year and a half and multiple PT sessions with some of Delaware's most respected physical therapists my pain wouldn't go away. I had resigned myself to the fact that I would be in pain for the rest of my life... Dr. Hartnett changed that. I was able to return back to my normal exercise routines and daily functions because of Dr. Hartnett's knowledge and approach. After one session with Doc. Hartnett my back pain disappeared and the shoulder pain became manageable. No Physical Therapist has ever helped me as much as Dr. Hartnett. I currently compete and perform at a high level in the sports/practices of wrestling, yoga and acrobatics because of Dr. Hartnett's treatment. Jay Hartnett gave me simple lifestyle changes & exercises which completely improved my quality of life. Thank you Dr. Hartnett. I'm forever in your debt. *All of these photos were taken within the past year post my visits with Dr. Hartnett.""
