Reviews of The Mind & Body Consortium Dover
"My other review was deleted. Copy/paste time. In the words of Captain America, I can do this all day. And also contact Google directly if necessary. Original review read as follows: As a health care professional, the first thing I must say looking at these reviews is that I am unsurprised at both the 2.0 star rating and the passive aggressive replies to negative reviews. The office staff is most decidedly rude and unprofessional, which they credit to being overworked and under too much pressure from management. Therapeutic communication is nonexistent at a practice that is specifically intended for mental health patients. The mental health care system in our country is absolutely broken, and it is offices like this one that enable the continued abuse and negligent treatment of mental health patients. Edit: Within hours of writing my review, I received a call from the owner of the business to resolve my concerns. That was surprising and appreciated. Currently, I am working with the office to address these concerns. Edit #2: Now that I no longer go to this practice, I can admit that the owner called me to bully me, harass me, threaten to report me to the board of nursing if I didn’t word my review more favorably. (I likened abusing suicidal patients to committing murder. I still believe that.) I don’t care if she reports me for saying that; I’ll gladly submit my own report in reference to the hostility, indifference, and callousness she demonstrated towards me. As an RN, I cannot in good conscience refer a single patient to this establishment. All of this started because I received repeated phone calls (increasingly aggressive and downright rude) about not being able to get my meds unless I paid hundreds of dollars (months in a row, despite repeatedly providing front office staff with the correct billing information). To clarify: they were harassing me by phone over their own billing mistake, which they refused to correct, and then the boss called me to harass me over a scathingly honest review, until I was in tears… and until I agreed to back down, she did not let up. They truly treat patients hatefully here. Abhorrent isn’t a good enough word. I can only hope it has changed in recent years, but judging from stories I’ve heard from patients, I seriously doubt it. Dr. Chua was the only good thing about this office, but it wasn’t worth sticking around for the management and billing staff."
"I have been going to this office since 2018. I have had a lot of ups and downs during that time, but changing providers seemed hard, and I liked the Dr. Chua. It's not hard, and changing to a practice that is timely and friendly is worth it. The first couple of years, I would always see people complaining about a bill they owed while waiting for appointments. I thought, geez why don't they just pay their bills, then it happened to me. They are billing more for charges that I paid. They double charged for one therapy session and charged a no show fee on an appointment that I didn't cancel. I didn't pay it, so they canceled my appointment without telling me. I find it pretty sad that a company like this is treating the most vulnerable population of people this way. We come to you for help, mental health support and guidance and instead of giving us the benefit of the doubt, you think everyone owes you or that we are less than because we are in need. I can tell you with 100% certainty you will find better providers somewhere else."
"So I’ve been going to this facility for some time. My primary complaint is billing, which is one of the reasons I stopped going there years ago. I came in paid off any balances recently. Then I called a week later to make an appointment for my daughter and was hit with a balance of close to $100. What is this for? No invoices, no real explanation. And no regard for the carelessness of how this is being handled."
"I went to the Milford location to meet with a therapist. The receptionist was very helpful. There was a lady standing behind the receptionist I didn’t realize who she was until she called me back herself. I met with her and after about 45-50 I got a new diagnosis which made sense as to why my medication with a different drs office isn’t helping. I meet with Dr. K tomorrow to see about a treatment plan. I will post an update after my appointment tomorrow. Also, getting in to see Gabby and Dr K happened a lot faster than I thought."
"I have seen this provider off and on since 2012 between my last and current round of treatment they moved to a new building. The parking lot and alley to access parking is so small I sat in the car for 40 minutes my first visit debating if the Dr. was worth the fight for parking considering the previous location parking lot was 2-3 times bigger. In a recent visit my psychologist was quick to tell me something I said was required to be reported to the federal government; without a thought of how her action would affect me. As far as I'm concerned her actions would have been detrimental to my health and thereby undo any work the Dr. and I had accomplished. I have seen this Dr. for over 5 years and she broke my trust with one comment. For these reasons I am looking at returning to the VA for care. I would do your research before considering Mind & Body Consortium in Dover, De.I"
