"Do not recommend. I called in looking for a therapist/psychologist after going through some serious life changes and needed help. The operator who answered the phone was nice but she did not listen to my needs after me explaining everything to her. She still paired me with a psychiatrist even though I needed a psychologist. She tells me that the guy she assigned me with is the only one who takes my insurance and that he will be able to help me and be able to assist me with my FMLA if needed and he prescribe meds AND have talk therapy with him. Basically that he’s a one stop shop. So I went with him and trusted her. The day of my appointment I meet with Eric Neba who waited 30 mins into my appointment to then tell me that he is not a therapist and he only prescribes medication and diagnose you and fill out paperwork. He stated I needed to find a therapist/psychologist (which is what I asked for in the first place) but that he wants me to take some time off of work and to send in the paperwork from my job so he can fill out. I found a therapist who took my insurance (different place) and scheduled my appointment for the following week. I also had my job send Eric the paperwork for my FMLA. Next thing I know I get a denial email from thriveworks stating I need to see one of their therapists (which I would be charged out of pocket despite having great insurance) for three more visits, AND a nurse practitioner BEFORE they send my paperwork to Eric to be filled out. At this point, I’m already on leave from my job with the guarantee I can get the paperwork filled out. I didn’t think anything of it because I did my part in seeking help, and Eric stated several times during our appointment that he will fill the paperwork out. I was already in contact with my primary care doctor who took stated I didn’t need to see a nurse practitioner for my mental health and that if I felt the need to be checked that they could do it. So of course I’m going to go to MY primary doctor not some nurse practitioner at thriveworks for no reason. Thriveworks put me in jeopardy of losing my job due to denying my paperwork ON TOP of everything else I had going on, including the death of my father. I ended up in such bad shape I was admitted to the hospital for stress because thriveworks did not help me but made it worse. Thank goodness for my actual primary care doctor because they ended up taking care of everything with my job and keeping my mental health a priority over some stupid office policy which NO ONE IN THRIVEWORKS MENTIONED UNTIL I GOT A DENIAL EMAIL. The medical team at thriveworks is rude and unprofessional. I requested a call back and they emailed me instead and never got back to me after that. They do not actually care about your needs. I would have continued seeing Eric if he was a therapist and willing to see me but he stated he doesn’t do therapy. So I did exactly what he said and they still refused to help me because I didn’t use their offices and pay out of pocket for another 4 visits when I also had a deadline with my job for the paperwork. Thriveworks put me in such a bad position. I told every medical professional about what happened and they all stated that policy is BS. It’s all a scam for more money. Why see a psychiatrist at thriveworks if they can’t even help you during a time of crisis? Why go to thriveworks if they make you see people you don’t need to see? If Eric can do it all, WHY WOULD I SEE ANYONE ELSE THERE?! Eric did not even try to set up another appointment with me so that I could come back or advise of the company policy. Because had I been advised of the stupid policy I would have never wasted my time and insurance going there. After my appointment with Eric I felt WORSE. I didn’t feel relieved. I was filled with anxiety and I had to relive everything only to be told he’s not a freaking therapist. I am so sick of companies like this who put money first when mental health should be the priority."
"We had our first visit Sunday and was very impressed. Counselor was easy to talk to and made my son and I feel very comfortable."
"I love my counselor! What a perfect match! I was able to get an appointment the same day I called; the receptionist was super friendly and recognized my situation. During the session, I felt heard and taken seriously. I have ongoing care with a person and company who, I feel, want me to succeed. I feel i have genuine support and I couldn't be happier."
