BAD Alfred's Distilling

BAD Alfred's Distilling is a unique institution located at 323 High Street in Chestertown, Maryland, United States. This brewpub and distillery offers house-made spirits, local craft beer, and delicious wood-fired pizzas. Established in 2018 by owners Al and Jennifer Cassinelli, Bad Alfred's continues to create small-batch craft spirits alongside an expanded cocktail, beer, and dining menu.

Housed in a former historic garage and filling station, Bad Alfred's features an open and inviting dining room and bar that faces a glassed-in distillery space, allowing patrons to watch the spirit-making process while enjoying a drink, pizza, or live music. The back of the building has been transformed into a private event space with a bar, dining room, and conference space.

Visitors can get a behind-the-scenes look at the distilling process and sample the spirits through a one-hour private tour and tasting with the brewer/distiller by appointment. Tours are available on Saturdays at 2:00 or 3:00 for $20 per person, limited to 6 people per tour.

Bad Alfred's offers a variety of house-made spirits available for purchase by the bottle or in craft cocktails. Guests are encouraged to observe the distilling process through the glassed-in walls of the distillery room, where the signature spirits and artisanal liquors are seasonally crafted.

With its private bar space, conference room, and lounge, Bad Alfred's is the perfect venue for family gatherings, special occasions, or group events. The stylishly decorated event space can accommodate up to 50 people and provides access to the full cocktail, beer, and pizza menu. Conveniently located with ample parking and adjacent restrooms, the event space is available for reservation by the hour or day.
