"This is the worst ER ever! They never take your concerns seriously. I had to visit the ED 3 times in one week because they kept dismissing my concerns and discharging me with unhelpful suggestions. On my 3rd visit I lost consciousness and had to be hospitalized for a week due to their negligence. Now they’re trying to stick me with thousands in medical bills when it was their fault for ignoring my problem to begin with! If you can, go to the Newark location or even better, Penn Medicine in Philly"
"In April of 2022 I went to the Christiana ER with debilitating chest pain and told them I was 5 weeks pregnant (confirmed by my OB the week prior with bloodwork). There was a Dr. Ashley, a male, that insinuated I was a junkie, (my husband has tattoos, thats the only thing I can think of other than the high volume of ODs that come through that ER.). He told me that nothing was wrong with me, and after a urine test at 5 weeks pregnant at 2am he told me I was not pregnant despite my having blood work to the contrary. He brought another person in the room and told me he no longer felt comfortable without a witness as if I had said anythiny out of line. My husband took me right out of there and I ended up at Maternity triage Christiana where I found out I was having a miscarriage. I hoped this was an isolated incident with one bad doctor. Fast forward, I went to the Middletown ER in the middle of the night Thursday 11/30 for what I believed was a torn rotator cuff and they once again sent me away with a Tylenol and told me it is probably just a sprain. I immediately went to Ortho that day and found out it was severe bicep tendonitis/tear and needed to be treated right away. The Middletown ER had mistreated it and misdiagnosed once again. When I tell you I left the Middletown ER in absolute agony and tears with zero answers and complete immobility of my right arm it will be the last time I bother with stopping there first. Three doctors saw me in that state and let me walk out. And it is sad because I used to be a frequent flyer with my grandma there and always thought so highly of it, and the main staff is always so pleasant but the quality of care and actual diagnosis beyond anything superficial is just not there. I will always have to wonder if that Dr. Ashley took me seriously if my miscarriage would have been saved and I truly hope he sees this review and thinks twice about judging every patient that comes through those doors. How do they fix it??? At best - if you can't diagnose at least don't dismiss and belittle. Refer the patient. Give them guidance. Take ownership. Doctors like this are why people go home in unimaginable pain and unalive themselves because they are made to feel crazy by doctors who are out of their depth and don't give proper next steps and just send them away with no hope."
"If you're reading this to find a good facility to come to for an emergency, do not come here. It says 'emergency' but no one treats anything like an emergency here. There is no one getting seen for over 6 hours. And to the person writing the generic replies to call patient relations.. CLEARLY no change has ever been made here. I've read your reviews and this will be our last time at a Christana Care facility. Your staff needs customer service skill building courses too. And the best part of my visit was seeing the head nurse through the window flirting and carring on for a hour now, with the desk clerks while people are waiting to be seen. Nice. IN WHAT WAY IS THIS AN EMERGENCY FACILITY? oh because it's open after hours? By the time I leave here I could of just seen my own doctor and spent the night in my own bed."
"My wife brought me in after leaving Kent General in Dover in an extreme amount of pain. From the man at the door to the doctor I could not have received better care anywhere and they were all so helpful and made us comfortable and started my care right away before having to be transported to the Main Campus in Christiana. This was around 2 AM and the one nurse even got my wife something to eat and drink while they were treating me. Cannot be happier and am sending them a thank you card."
"I was there on Wednesday evening and I couldn't have been treated better by each one of the amazing individuals of this team. They were phenomenal, timely, professional, thorough, and had a great sense of humor! Above all they were so kind and really caring! I am so very grateful for each one of the Individuals that played a role in caring for me on this evening, after my sport injury. Thank you once more ❤️"
