Reviews of United States Postal Service
"I had a package to mail off for a customer of mine on eBay. I packed it up the night before, printed the label and got it ready to drop off to the post office the next morning. When I went in, the gentleman told me that I can’t mail something with a label dated for the day before. I’ve been doing this for YEARS and he was loud and it was quite embarrassing and degrading. I guess I need to use UPS or FedEx from now on. Never had an issue until now."
"I came in to drop a prepaid package off at the Seaford Post Office and the clerk told me she couldn't ship it because the label wasn't dated for today. I printed the label out the night before. So I went to the Sharptown Post Office that day on my way home and they took it and mailed it. Talking about stupid!"
"Rude staff. My lock fell out of my mailbox so I called USPS to have it repaired. They gave me a case number and told me to go to my local branch to have it expedited. Called Bridgeville, turns out Seaford handles our mail so the woman from Bridgeville gave me their number and warned me they never answer. Tried to call, no answer. Showed up to Seaford and was told that the case numbers mean nothing and the only way to have it fixed was coming here and it wouldn't be done until Tuesday. Held my mail until Tuesday. I get an email and phone call today stating that it's been fixed (thanks to the case number I was told wouldn't do anything by the way) and that I could come get my keys. I come in today to get my keys, and fhe gentleman behind the counter I believe his name was Horace, was rude trying to tell me I owed $25. To which his superior told him I do not owe $25. Then I asked to have my mail un-held and he said "would have been nice to know that" went off and came back with a paper saying it's been sent to Bridgeville. I explained Bridgeville telling me that they don't handle it, Seaford does. And he underlined each word and said "see where it says SENT, TO, BRIDGEVILLE" I'm not sure why the staff here is miserable, but maybe someone should look into that. Very disappointing."
"I had created a label online anticipating shipping my package the next day, but due to life and its circumstances, I wasn’t able to ship on the day of my label. The woman I approached the next day was less than helpful, told me my label was “all sorts of wrong,” and told me to go back into my account and re-do the date and shipping weight. I asked “is there anything you could do for me while I’m here?” “No, it’s all through your account.” Ok, but you can create new labels here, and I can request the refund in my my account? Why did I have to go home, waste more time and gas, just to re-do a label you can also create in store? Utterly ridiculous. This isn’t the first time this woman has been snippy with me, either, so don’t waste your time if you don’t have to."
"I don't know what's up with all the negative reviews but then again I'm from NY and this post office is tremendous. Plenty of parking, the workers aren't sitting around, friendly environment and very spacious. The clerks remember your name and face and have gone out of their way numerous times for me including trying to figure out the Rehoboth Annex Postal Service's mistakes and laziness with not scanning. Yes a line can form pretty quickly but it moves just as quickly and yes they could use another clerk (but can't we all right now). But they make the best of it and do a great job."
