Reviews of E & H & Son Appliances
"Ed was fair and reasonable. I highly recommend his services and appliances. I have used him many times and he is always reliable and trustworthy."
"Wow, I wish I would have read the reviews on Mr. Appliance before I called them. Total rip off! I paid $159.00 for a service call. The service tech was super nice and helpful, it's not his fault the company scams desperate people in the time of need. They were going to come back the day before Thanksgiving and charge me $296.00. I told them I would fix it myself, which cost $5.00. Thank you Ed and Helen from E&H & Son Appliances."
"Highly recommend E&H! Called since our old refg was not staying cool. They returned call within 15 minutes and came out within 2 hours. Fixed the evap fan (tested and it did not require replacing, they don't "sell" you on part if not needed). Honest and extremely reasonable. Thank you E&H!"
"For service, honesty and fair pricing, it doesn't get any better than this Mom and Pop appliance repair shop! E&H& Son Appliances is now our forever go-to place for appliance repair. Our propane gas oven would no turn off after our chicken dinner was cooked. Egads! We called the first place given to us by Frigidaire's 800-number robot, Mr. Appliance, but they couldn't come out that night so we called our propane service, Taylor Oil and Propane. The owner called us back and, over the phone and, at no cost, showed us how to turn off the propane tank. Thank you Taylor! The next day, we ate the cost of a service call by Mr. Appliance. The tech spoke so fast he may have a future as an auctioneer. Then he quoted us a repair estimate so high it led me to search for a new gas range, which was still too much for us. Then I read Mr. Appliance's reviews, which confirmed my worst suspicions; I admonished myself for not doing that first. Next, I called a long-term area realtor who recommended E&H. We went to their shop in downtown Kennett Square (PA) and explained the problem and had a nice chat with Ed and Helen. They came out the following week and repaired our range for HALF the amount quoted us by Mr. Appliance! Half! Ed and his son were in and out in 20 minutes and did a great job! No robot called me later to ask how we liked their service. No e-mail came to ask me to complete a survey. Just good old-fashioned service. When the robots called from Mr. Appliance, I was (ahem!) honest with my review, followed by a call to Frigidaire customer service to tell them they should do a better job vetting their service call vendors. Stick with the mom and pops. And go to E&H&Son for your appliance repair needs. They also sell appliances and should we need one in the future, I trust them to take care of us. You should too."
"After waiting excessively long for the required part, EH came to repair the ice dispenser on my Samsung fridge. When they left, the machine dispensed ice but would no longer switch between cubed and crushed (not a problem before they "repaired" it). When they came back to check the new problem, they were unable to check the wiring because they "didn't bring that tool". They denied all responsibility but did offer to call me in the next day or so with a price on the new repair. Not surprisingly, I never heard back from them. Ultimately got the fridge repaired elsewhere and was told they likely damaged one of the connections when removing the panel. I regret that I didn't pay by credit card (to dispute the charge) because they don't stand behind their work. Of course, the check was cashed right away so no recourse on my end. Hopefully this review helps someone else from falling victim to them."
