"The Only Reason for the Single Star, was the Amazing Nurse Who Took My Medical History Prior to Being Spoken-At by Dr. Varipappa. He was Obviously in a Hurry To Get Somewhere or Do Something Else. I Brought Full Imaging (Multiple View Complete Spinal X-rays & Full Spinal MRI With & Without Contrast) to be Evaluated by Dr. Varipappa. I Was Given Approximately 15 Seconds to Verbalize an Extremely Complicated Medical Problem with Multiple Overlapping Conditions. At the Conclusion of 15 Seconds, Dr. Varipappa Cut Me Off, Mid-Sentence, Blurting Out That I Needed To See A GI Doctor, Although, Three GI Specialists Indicated Nerve Signal Deficit was The Most Likely Cause of My Issues. He Would Have Known this Fact If He Had Even A Cursery Glance At My Chart. Don't Waste Your Time!"
"Originally, when I first coming to CNMRI, I felt good about my care from Dr. Coll. He was attentive and thorough, ordering imaging and other tests to figure out my migraines. However, somewhere along the way he lost his humanity and patience with me. I ways always wrong. My symptoms were not possible. My MRI from a year ago was normal. I kept telling him my symptoms were worsening and because he didn’t have an obvious diagnosis that made sense to him, it was like he was taking a needle and poking around to see if he could find something that sounded good and made sense to him. When it didn’t make sense he blamed other things for my symptoms such as my anxiety and even the medications (that are closely monitored) I had never had issues for 10+ years. And forget trying to communicate through MyChart because that ended for me in April with no responses to my questions. Crickets. Sometimes not everything makes sense. Sometimes it’s not a simple textbook answer. Sometimes you have to take the time to think outside the box. Sometimes you can have all of the education in the world and still be wrong. I know I have been wrong a lot in my profession, but I’ve had to swallow my pride, admit my faults, and learn from my mistakes. You made a mistake and were wrong Dr. Coll. There is an issue, but because my MRI from last year was normal you brushed me off. My PCP ordered a MRI and they did find something in my temporal lobe. Which wasn’t there last year, but things can change. Now I have to have additional testing to see what’s going on and if this change is the source of my symptoms. So I am now scared to see what these new tests will reveal, when all you could have said is, “I’m sorry. I don’t know what’s going on, but let’s order more tests.” That would have been completely acceptable to me. Instead you came off as arrogant and you couldn’t swallow your pride. Being a woman of faith, I believe there was a reason God led me to you initially. I believe there is a reason why there was a change in my MRI results, thank God my PCP took the time to listen to me. Maybe the purpose was to show you that the medical profession doesn’t have to make sense. Maybe I’m helping another patient who has lost their voice because you won’t listen. I wish you no ill will because God has a purpose for you and your career. I just ask that as you treat your current and future patients you listen to them and treat them with the same care you would for your own mother or children. If you are ever up against a scary medical situation, I wish you a better doctor than you were to me. I will be going elsewhere for my continued care."
"Don’t plan for your appointment to be on time. Even if you ask how far behind is the dr you will get “they are on time” as I wait 45 + min for my appointment. If they would have told me it would be this far behind I would have rescheduled."
"Words cannot describe the frustration encountered when dealing with this office because no one answers the phone and they just do not have a sense of urgency devoted to the required coordination with medical suppliers and insurance companies. It seems that the only way to obtain results is to personally go to their office and hand deliver documents to others."
"I had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Jacob this morning for my son. I had called on Wednesday to find out whether they expected the office to be open on Friday given the impending winter storm. I was told that they would likely be open since they did not see snow in the forecast for Friday and informed that phone calls would be made to patients in the event they were closed. Although they were closed on Thursday, the website stated that the office would be back open on Friday. I called to confirm our appointment before leaving the house, but the office had not yet open for the day—thankfully they were open by the time we arrived at 7:50am. As we were getting registered with the receptionist, Dr. Jacob’s nurse, Judy, came out and informed the receptionist that Dr. Jacob would not be making it in today due to the snowy conditions. Mind you this was at 7:59am and our appointment was for 8am. You would think that the doctor would have been able to assess the situation and make the determination last night that she would not be able to make it in given that little if any improvements would occur overnight, especially since the forecast called for snow drifts and temperatures in the negative due to the excessive windchill. On top of this, you would think the doctor would have at least had the courtesy to notify the office in a more timely fashion. When my husband, who had taken time off from work for this appointment, attempted to get information from Judy, who became highly defensive rather quickly during the conversation and gave every unjustifiable excuse in the book, we were informed that the doctor has a baby and could not leave the house to assess the situation. We then pointed over to our baby who was sitting patiently in the waiting room for her brother’s appointment and made it clear that we had no problem leaving the house. At this point Judy modified her statement to add that Dr. Jacob’s baby was an infant. We realized we were getting nowhere quick with this woman and simply asked whether another doctor was available to see our son. About 5 minutes later, we were informed that “nobody can accommodate your son’s appointment today.” Although we decided to reschedule, we opted to go with another physician, who unfortunately cannot see our son for over three weeks from now. As if this all wasn’t aggravating enough, I noticed they failed to input my son’s name correctly after I received the rescheduled appointment confirmation sheet. Needless to say, I am incredibly disappointed in the high level of unprofessionalism we experienced this morning and Judy’s unwarranted abrasive attitude. I am crossing my fingers for our appointment scheduled with Dr. G at the end of this month. On a side note, an elderly woman slipped and fell as she walked into the office because the laminated area of the floor was wet and there was no sign inside indicating the hazardous condition."
