Beebe Healthcare (Lab Express Lewes)

"I guess, with the population explosion in and around Lewes, Beebe can not get the lab/patient process figured out. A year or so ago, you just walked in, took a number, sat down, and were called probably within ten minutes. Now you must make an appointment, arrive 15 minutes before your appointment; you are told to have a seat and we will be with you shortly. 30 minutes or more go by and nothing - you get up and explain that you have an appointment; just have a seat and we'll be with you shortly. Meantime, others are arriving for blood work and taken into the lab area while you are sitting there. This morning it took my wife more than forty-five minutes to have her blood drawn even though she had an appointment. Used to be in an out of there within twenty minutes. I guess having lived here and used Beebe as my medical to go place since1979 has spoiled me. I can now see where the term "Lower Slower" is warranted. perhaps the new Bayhealth facility will be better organized."

"I have a scheduled 3 hour glucose tolerance test during my pregnancy. Apparently this hospital won't start the test, meaning give me the drink, until the lab comes back with my initial blood results. It's been 1.5 hours since they drew my blood and the lab hasn't come back with the results. I've done this test before and never have I had to wait 1.5 hours to start the test. Once I drink the drink I will have to stay for 3 hours and have blood drawn which I expected. Let's also note that this is a fasting test so I won't be able to eat (yes I'm 32 weeks pregnant and can't eat) for another 4 hours. I always have a negative experience here."
