"SHDA has great group classes and a tight-knit community. I first started going by myself, and I have met so many friends through dance, both taking 6 week progressives and private lessons. All of the instructors are great, but special shout out to David, who was my private instructor. He does a phenomenal job breaking down the movements of each dance in a way you can understand, and he makes each lesson challenging yet really fun. There's a good variety of dance styles offered. Bonus at SHDA is that your membership (taking either group classes or private lessons) allows you to attend their regular free group classes that happen 3x a week. There's also a weekly social on Fridays, and once a month they do a themed party with all the bells and whistles. Their first Friday Latin night has been getting better and better - now it has two floors of dance! Overall, between the instructors, the students and the welcoming culture, it's a great place to learn ballroom dance."
