About the Business
Modern Duelists Fencing Academy, located at 505 Blue Ball Road in Elkton, Maryland, is a unique institution offering highly individualized epee fencing instruction. Founded by Head Coach Jeff Safko in 2013, our program focuses on one-on-one lessons tailored to each student, supplemented with bouting and small group training. Our goal is to develop absolute fencing mastery, with a competitive and challenging approach to the sport.
Our coaching team, including Coach Ryleigh and Coach Justin, brings years of experience and expertise to the academy. We welcome students of all ages and levels of experience, from beginners to national medalists. Whether you're looking to improve your skills for competition or simply for the love of the game, we have a place for you at Modern Duelists.
Lessons are available throughout the week, with beginner classes offered in the evenings and on Saturdays. We provide all necessary equipment for beginners, who will gradually acquire their own gear under the guidance of our coaches. No experience is required to start fencing with us, just a willingness to train hard and dedication to self-improvement.
