"I saw Dr. Pernelli for years. Their staff has always been excellent and friendly. Got many pairs of glasses and sunglasses from them over the years including a few custom made lenses and have always had great service. In 2015 Dr. Pernelli performed my LASIK surgery and I went from not being able to see my finger tips with my arm extended to having 20/10 vision ( better than normal people). It's truly miraculous! Highly recommend Dr. Pernelli and his staff!"

"I encourage anyone looking for state of the art eye care to check Dr. Heacox's availability. I have been a patient of Dr. Heacox's since 2004/2005 (can't remember exactly). Over almost twenty years, he has been a constant advocate for my overall wellness. In that span, I moved to DC, back to NJ, and then to PA. I have an appointment nearly every six months and he is still the only person who works with my eyes even if I have to drive over an hour. He has such extensive knowledge. He is the type of eye doctor who can look at your eye and tell if some other abnormality or ailment is affecting you. I'm also a curious type who has a ton of questions, and he always patiently explains. Sometimes he will even draw on a scrap of paper to give me a better visual aid to understand to concepts. He helped my younger sibling after a toy took a chunk out of his eye, and over 15 years later he still has 20/20 vision with the eye fully healed. Even when this office is out of network for my insurance or at times when I did not have insurance, my family and I have npt left due to the comprehensive care we receive. We have always had stellar customer service from the office staff. We trust Dr. Heacox. The rapport we have built over the years causes me to always look forward to appointments. How often do you go to a doctors office in this day & age and - while still met with professionalism - feel like you are getting to see an old friend?"

"Do not waste your time coming here. The reception staff is rude and couldn’t care less about your health. After previously asking on the phone before driving an hour out here, I was told dilation wouldn’t be necessary as I just had it done. This place will gladly waste your time. I asked to speak to the doctor to make an informed consent prior to a procedure which is a very reasonable request - one they refused to accommodate citing I was “wasting their time”. Newsflash - patients keep your practice open and are not a “waste of time”. A receptionist is also not a qualified medical provider and has no business refusing informed consent, something that is a fundamental patient right. Your attitudes and inflammatory remarks are unacceptable, as documented by several reviews and your low rating."

"I have been a patient here for over 5 years. Dr. Heacox and the office staff saved my life. In March 2020 I postponed my annual Eye appointment because I was "too busy". Three weeks later I again postponed. Dr. Heacox and Dr. Pernelli's staff persistently contacted me to reschedule my appointment. Finally in mid May I kept my appointment. During that checkup Dr. Heacox observed both my optic nerves were very swollen. He had his staff schedule me for a MRI the very next day. He called me with the results of my MRI, a mass the size of my fist on my brain. He referred me based on some research he did to the best hospital and neurosurgeon to have the tumor removed. In my opinion these professionals went over and beyond to diagnose my problem and get me to a place where I would get first class care. My neurosurgeon told me I would have had a seizure or stroke in the near future if I had not gotten this removed. Dr. Heacox and the staff of the Eye Institute of South Jersey have been with me all the way since May 2020 to help me recover from this ordeal. I highly recommend this practice and would encourage anyone that reads this to not neglect annual eye check ups."

"Very bad negative experience with office worker Debbie, she is unprofessional, argumentative and a liar. Because of Secretary Debbie and Dr Heacox not expecting his office worker to treat his patients with respect and honesty, I will no longer do business here. Debbie needs to be disciplined for her behavior and attitude with customers. Debbie should not be allowed to deal with the public and she should also be retrained in proper customer service etiquette and sensitivity. There are too many other ophthalmologists available for anyone to risk bad service here so I suggest highly you get all your eye care elsewhere."
