Reviews of Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk
"The Rehoboth Boardwalk has a special place in my heart. I originally came here for the very first time 20 years ago, being from Puerto Rico, it was a completely different experience than I was used to when visiting the beach. The Boardwalk is a great place for families and friends. The boardwalk is very well kept with plenty of trash cans, showers and public bathrooms available. There’s also water fountains available. Parking in Rehoboth is pretty expensive though, I would highly recommend taking the bus in from the park and ride if you’re looking to save money or getting a permit and parking on a side street. Otherwise you’re stuck with meter parking. Once you’re at the boardwalk theres a plethora of great food options and entertainment, with arcades, miniature golf, shopping and of course Funland which is basically an indoor/outdoor carnival style entertainment area right on te boardwalk. The beach is easily accessible with multiple entries to get down to the ocean. If you want to step off the boardwalk and down Rehoboth avenue there’s even more food options. At the boardwalk theres also the bandstand which has live music and events year round. Whether you’re from DE or you’re from out of town, the boardwalk is always a great place to go to get some ice cream and enjoy the ocean views. (The summer can be crazy with a million people, come during the off season for a better, quieter experience. )"
"The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk is an absolute gem on the East Coast! I had the pleasure of spending a day soaking in the sun, sea, and the vibrant atmosphere this boardwalk has to offer. The pristine sandy beaches, lined with charming shops and eateries, create a picturesque backdrop for a day of leisure. The boardwalk itself is well-maintained and offers a pleasant stroll, complete with the invigorating scent of saltwater in the air. The wooden planks beneath your feet give that nostalgic beachside feel. One of the highlights for me was the assortment of quaint shops selling everything from unique souvenirs to stylish beachwear. It's a shopper's paradise! The variety of restaurants and cafes cater to all tastes, making it easy to find the perfect spot for a delicious meal or a refreshing drink with an ocean view. The lively atmosphere is heightened by the cheerful sounds of street performers and the occasional live music. Families, couples, and solo travelers alike can find something to enjoy here. The amusement rides and arcades add a playful touch, making it an ideal destination for both kids and the young at heart. The overall cleanliness and friendly demeanor of the locals contribute to the welcoming ambiance of Rehoboth Beach. The convenient parking options and easy access to the boardwalk make it a stress-free destination. Whether you're seeking a day of relaxation or a lively seaside experience, the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk has it all. It's a must-visit destination that captures the essence of a perfect beach day. I can't wait to return and create more wonderful memories at this East Coast treasure!"
"We enjoyed walking on the boardwalk at night after a long drive. It's well maintained and well lit from end to end. We walked it again in the morning and were able to see the dunes and the beach."
"We went on the weekend after Labor Day and arrived early enough in the morning to have a pretty quiet experience for an hour or so. As other beachgoers arrived it got pretty busy. My small beach footprint was crowded with other families by the time we left. The beach is quiet and clean with some photogenic jetties. They have life guards on duty during the busy hours that will keep you from swimming near the jetties for your safety. There are a couple of places where you can rent umbrellas and boogie boards. If you get hungry or you want to shop, the boardwalk is right there for all your wants. Though I would encourage sandals or something for the sand. It was only 84 degrees but the sand felt like it was well over 100. First time to a beach in years and I am looking forward to the next visit."
"Lovely boardwalk. While the boardwalk itself is about 1 mile long...the portion of it that has shops is much smaller. Nothing like what you'd see in Atlantic City. Interesting variety of small shops and lots of eating options, especially as make your way toward Rehoboth Avenue. Lovely views of the beach and Atlantic Ocean. Can get crowded during the peak summer months and weekends...so be prepared for lines for shops/food, crowded beaches and less parking close to the boardwalk. We arrived on a summer Wednesday and had to park about 1/2 mile out along Rehoboth Avenue and make our way to the Boardwalk...not a bad walk but can be troublesome for older folks, kids and those with limited mobility. Lots of metered street parking throughout the area...can be paid via the app or by credit card at the meter. I chose credit card since as I saw a few reviews claiming the they were ticketed despite using the app to pay for parking. Be sure to read the street signs...some areas (not on the main streets) are city-permit only...I'd say stick to the meters to be safe. The meters are about $3 per hour and are in effect from May 15th through September 15th , 10am - 10pm."
