Reviews of Aux Délices Foods
"I'm really getting disappointed! This place has always been a local favorite hangout because it always had good food at reasonable prices where a single person or a couple could go almost every day and just have their late afternoon meal and not worry about dinner. But this has deteriorated so much! Although the food is still good, the prices have gotten ridiculous for what's being offered. The prices are going way up and all of the portions are going way down, to the point of it being ludicrous. For example, the salads used to have eight small tomatoes. Then they reduced to 6, then four and now three if you're lucky! The tuna salad on lettuce in the container had a great scoop of tuna and little accoutrements on the side to toss into the salad, but now the tuna is about the size of a large tablespoon full and even black olives that were in some of the salads were reduced down to maybe three from about 8. The quiche was a favorite but now it is at $16.00 for two slices and the slices have been cut smaller and smaller. The salmon benta tray has a piece of salmon that is like a small square. The dessert cakes are about a third of the size of what they used to be, the brownies are about half the size less. The atmosphere has deteriorated too. A lot of local people used to go and hang out and say hello to each other and read their newspaper and have a warm sandwich, salad sampler or meal on a weekend or Sunday brunch and now everyone just basically does take out, so it has lost its intimate panache. No more people watching! :-( We have to think twice about what we choose to purchase because of the high cost. A few things in our to-go bag, and it's always $75-100. The food is still good, it's just that the portions have been cut way way down and the prices have gone way up. I think the customers deserve a lot better than this. It's really insulting to the customer and they really ought to rethink this. (By the way, the reviews that are older, from 2 to 3 years ago, don't really apply because that was then. It has changed since.)"
"Really loved this place, until they started charging $1 extra whenever you order Turkey, but never with other meats. Prices have increased, I get it, but really???? And the food quality has not improved. Still selling stale breads. So sad."
"Very bad customer experience, I came to this place 3 times before posting this review, I decided now to share my experience. There were at least 5 employees and no customers waiting on the line, seemed that no one care about taking your order, after the order was placed I have to ask 3 times what was going on to bring a simple cold sandwich, we were there 10 minutes waiting. Also sandwiches are below average, nothing so special and there are small. My wife order a salad, which was Ok and a veggie quiche, I will advise you not to order the quiche, it was gummy and seemed it was soaked on cold milk, un-eatable. Better go any other place close by, even if you have to drive 50 miles…"
"Aux Délices is a solid choice for breakfast or lunch. Plus, I know I can get a decent latte here and they offer almond milk. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor seating upstairs, with plastic partitions between the tables. Today I tried the red velvet latte but sadly, I wasn’t a fan. I’ll stick to my regular latte on my next visit."
"Grea great coffee. Very good small bites pastries and desserts. Place is small so u gotta kind of keep it moving but worth visiting if in Greenwich."
