Reviews of Auburn Road Vineyard & Winery
"I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an extraordinary culinary journey at Auburn Road Vineyard & Winery in Pilesgrove, New Jersey, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked through the vineyard-lined entrance, I knew I was in for a treat. The four-course dinner unfolded like a gastronomic masterpiece, with each dish skillfully crafted to perfection. The evening commenced with a delightful Spinach Ricotta Gnocchi Roulade that danced on the palate. The pillowy gnocchi, enveloped in a delicate spinach and ricotta embrace, set the tone for a night of culinary bliss. The second act featured a Duck Confit Salad that was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. The tender duck confit, combined with crisp greens and an array of vibrant ingredients, showcased the chef's artistry and attention to detail. The culinary crescendo reached its peak with the Main Course - a Surf and Turf extravaganza. The Smoked Braised Short Ribs were a revelation, melting in the mouth with a rich smokiness that lingered on the taste buds. Paired with a Lobster Cake that boasted freshness and finesse, this course was a symphony of land and sea. Just when I thought the experience couldn't get any better, the final course emerged – a Blood Orange Creamsicle Mousse Cake. This dessert was a sensory delight, with the citrusy zing of blood orange elegantly balanced against the velvety smoothness of the creamsicle mousse. It was a sweet conclusion that left me with a lingering sense of satisfaction. The culinary excellence was seamlessly complemented by the impeccable wine pairings. Each course was thoughtfully accompanied by a wine that enhanced the flavors and elevated the overall dining experience. The knowledgeable staff and owners, who were both gracious and informative, added a personal touch to the evening, making it an unforgettable encounter. Auburn Road Vineyard & Winery is not just a winery; it's a haven for those who appreciate the finer things in life. The attention to detail, the dedication to quality, and the passion for creating an unparalleled dining experience make this establishment a gem in the heart of New Jersey. Whether you're a wine enthusiast, a food connoisseur, or someone simply seeking a memorable evening, Auburn Road Vineyard & Winery is a destination that promises to exceed expectations. Cheers to an unforgettable culinary adventure!"
"One of the best sea salt caramel gelatos I've had; it was smooth and had a thick, chewy texture and tasted like dulce de leche, and I enjoyed the dark chocolate-covered bitter caramel; it wasn't too frozen and it wasn't overly sweet. Pizzas were pretty good, too; I had the Margherita (pictured), Pomodorian and Tartufo. Fair warning, just a lot of flies inside from my experience when I visited in the summer, but I let them know and they said they are working on it"
"To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We heard a lot of great reviews on this place and decided since we were right in the area lets swing by. We arrived, and we’re greeted quickly by the young ladies at the front desk. we asked for outside seating and was told there wasn’t any availability for dining outside. I casually could see outside and saw the numerous amounts of open tables which was disappointing. We understood reservations are reservations, so we proceeded to go to the bar with expectations of eventually getting a table inside which, we were told they would have time available in roughly an hour. We’re honestly glad we never got sat at a table from hearing the many complaints from customers saying they weren’t getting service inside or out. Needless to say, we also weren’t getting service inside at the bar as the staff claimed they weren’t prepared (short staffed.I find that quite funny as they had the reservations in the system but yet you didn’t staff the business accordingly. What left me to leave this review was from prior experiences with winery’s. From pa, nj, Ny I have never seen filthy glasses quite like the ones this winery presented. I couldn’t believe it so we took picture for proof. The icing on the cake for my girlfriend was bar had flies on the wood awning above which it wasn’t just one, it was a family of them , and it was directly above the deserts. Once we noticed, we were extremely taken back and decided to finish our flights and take a few bottles to go as it was time. Again it kills me to leave this review I just simply left my experience."
"We had an overall decent time! Lot of flies inside and out (know it’s hard to control). The Buddha basket has packaged ingredients, the only thing that seemed freshly cut were the two pieces of cheese. Would be nice to have a charcuterie board that was already set up. We were also given paper plates and paper water cups. Got a Cher flatbread that tasted alright (not really worth the price I think.) The wine was pretty good, we did a flight then ended up getting a bottle of Rosalita. The vineyard itself is nice, secluded and very pretty."
