Royal Boucherie

"Got seated at a cramped circular table only fit for some light brunch or coffee. Dishes were somewhat pricey and not particularly to my taste. And the service was not necessary great. We also got the main course before the appetizer, which doesn’t really make any sense. Ordered a glass of wine which was served in a cocktail/martini glass?? The oysters were decent, not that I am much of an oyster connoisseur to be able to tell the difference but they tasted as expected. Though sizing was somewhat inconsistent with some noticeably smaller than the others, to the point where I question whether they should be served. Didn’t get a picture of the pate but it looked and tasted a bit disappointing, I would compared it to spam or cat food. Tasted like a cold homemade turkey burger. The charcuterie board was also not very impressive, especially for the price. I’ve had better pieces from Costco. The only acceptable dish was the duck confit, which is quite pricey at over $30+ for a relatively small portion of duck, basically a large drumstick. Atmosphere was decent, dark and noisy."

"The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. We got quick service at the bar, and the drinks were delicious. I got the Franklin’s Mistress while my friend got the Firepit Chat. My New York Strip was cooked to a beautiful rare/medium rare (they rode the line of undercooked, which I appreciate as you can always asked for it to be cooked a bit longer). The seasoning was perfect, the fries hot and crispy, the aioli light and fresh. For an extra $4, we got the bearnaise sauce, which came in an adorable little sauce pan. My friend got the shrimp cocktail and raved that the house made cocktail sauce is the best they’ve had. I finished my meal with the Moira Rose N/A cocktail, which was sweet but balance and super refreshing. Very cute atmosphere, too. I can’t recommend it highly enough!"
