"Recently visited from out of town and attempted to pay for my 83yo mothers groceries, as she is on a fixed income. She has a membership. I do not. Costco refused to accept my payment and insisted I become a member. A little stringent (read greedy) on the membership rules. Went to BJ's Wholesale Club instead. Much more reasonable. After that experience, I will not be joining Costco, and told my mother to cancel her membership. It's a bad day when I can't help my mother at Costco."
