"Gary Shears makes the BEST cocktails. His espresso martini is the best I’ve ever had. Food was phenomenal!! Staff was so welcoming. Atmosphere was top notch. A MUST VISIT place on South Street."
"Our first visit there, we reserved a 4 pm seating. I was able to take many pictures before other guests came to dine. The staff members were excellent! Very pleasant with all diners. The food was traditional German Fare. Loved the large Pretzel appetizer with cheese dip. The Pretzel dough had a slight flavor of Rye. I had the Rudolph Cocktail, created by the staff, and then the Gluhwein (hot mulled Cider wine with addition of apple brandy). It was very tasty, just a little too much clove for me. However, it was warm and hit the spot. The specialty of the day was a pork shank, served with a potato dumpling and sauerkraut. We also got a side of German Potato Salad. The Shank was huge and served with a nice size knife for cutting. Quite impressive, it looked like we were each being served meals from the Medieval Era. Loved it! Potato Salad was different than the one my mother in law made, but it was still excellent. This was served cold....made with Dill and visible onions. Dessert - Apple Streudel served with Vanilla Ice Cream and whipped cream. Piped music in the restaurant was good, but our suggestion would be to do a blend of traditional German music and your other selections. The music did not fit with the German authenticity of your themed decor and food. We would have loved to hear a Bavarian flare in the genre of music....to us, that would have tied up the perfect package in a Big Bow! It was an excellent experience all the way around! We will definitely go back to 718 South Street, Philadelphia!"
"Organized my 20th year high school reunion in their back party room. Everything was perfect. First class beer selection, great bar and food, and spacious venue. Even better was their amazing team. Huge thanks to Erin, Gary, and the staff at Brauhaus for making this a very special evening."
"Great service, great food and what a selection of beers…the people at the bar are just fantastic, they make you feel like home, even though this was my first visit here! This must be a true German place, each beer comes in its specific type of glass (THANK YOU!), the Schnitzel is great and just being here makes you feel good! I come back, probably every weekend!"
