Reviews of Indian Char House
"Two friends and I went to Indian Char House for dinner and it was amazing! We ordered the lasooni gobi which was shatteringly crisp as well as chai before we got to the main course, the bbq items. We ordered 5 different things, mainly chicken and lamb, and each dish was better than the last. They came out sizzling and we could barely see each other through the clouds of delicious steam. Each item was so tender and flavorful that we were even scraping off the bed of cabbage and onions that browned and absorbed some of the kebab flavor to eat. Each bbq item also came with a veggie side (3 total) and we ordered some naan to go with it, including the cream cheese naan which was pretty good! It all came out to a very reasonable price and the restaurant is BYOB as well. Service was above and beyond too, so we'll definitely be back!"
"This place is an authentic Indian restaurant and it is halal which is a plus. Their chef's special BRIYANI was good. It had a mix of shrimp chicken and Lamb. I have also tried their butter CHICKEN and naan along with pompano grilled fish and let me tell it it was great coming from a person who doesn't prefer fish. Lastly, their service was great and showed how much they care for their customers."
"Food was delicious. I’m not big on spicy, but love Indian food that isn’t spicy. The server really helped me pick something that would be a good fit for me. I ordered Chicken Malabar and it was amazing, not spicy at all. Hubby got Lamb Briyani really good as well, but it was supposed to have a sauce and they didn’t service it with the sauce. We didn’t notice until we left and looked at the menu again. He really wanted a sauce with his so not getting the sauce was a bummer. Lamb Briyani is a little spicy. The Naam is delicious as well! For dessert we ordered Gulub Jamon, the taste is really good, but the texture is different. the Mali Kalfi was really good and the mango cheesecake was good, but it was a store bought cheesecake, the mango sauce was really good though. Also they started us off with warm water. I didn’t care about that, but my husband is adamant about it!"
"[Order: Samosa Chat, Cream cheese Naan, Pompano Fish, and Lamb Boti Kabob Meal, and mango Laci.] Service: The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The food presentation was impeccable! Taste: The food was expertly seasoned. I particularly enjoyed the intricate flavor profiles, especially in the Samosa Chat. Portion: The fish portion was quite generous, while the lamb was slightly smaller but still quite satisfactory. The side dishes of rice and curry vegetables were well-portioned. Quality: The food quality was good. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying, especially the Naan, Samosa Chat, and the side dishes. However, one area for improvement is the Lamb Boti Kabob. While it tasted good, it could have been better in terms of tenderness and texture. Value: This restaurant truly stands out in terms of value. The prices are unmatched compared to the many Indian restaurants I've visited on the East Coast. Given what we paid, I am extremely satisfied with what we received."
"Still trying to figure out which was better between the pompano and shafi, our server. From the cream cheese naan and to the mango cheesecake. The outdoor space was cute, simple and cozy. BBQ smells fill the air. Super cozy inside with a tv and faux fireplace. You can sense early on that this place is a gem. We left with full stomachs and joy in our heart to meet such a kind human as Shafi. Eat in or outdoors but come visit them, you won’t regret it."
