"Katie does fantastic work. She is very friendly and precise. I get a hybrid set of lashes every two weeks which never fail to last the entire time. She also ‘tattooed’ my eyebrows, which have completely reshaped my face. Thank you, Katie for all your great work and being so sweet. (These lashes pictured are two weeks in, my refill is in a few days)"
"I got powder brow done with Tien & I’m absolutely obsessed. She did an amazing job and I couldn’t be more happy. The spa is clean and decorated so cute, highly recommend"
"I’m here from out of town and will definitely never be returning. Arrived 10 minutes early to my 1:40 PM appointment on a Friday and waited a half hour to be seen. Another woman came in after me and was immediately sent back. When I said something to the receptionist she clearly forgot I was waiting but didn’t apologize. Chairs are very uncomfortable. Polish selection is lacking. My zen pedicure ($38) took less than 20 minutes when they finally saw me. The tech was very nice but starting clipping my nails super short all the way to the beds before even asking me if or how I wanted them clipped. I like them long and straight across, so this was really disappointing and they look very uneven to me. She also painted over some of the leftover polish from my previous pedicure without removing it. I don’t like the look of this pedicure and I can tell it won’t last due to poor application."
"I visited Zazen Nail Salon yesterday for a gel manicure & pedicure. Zazen was recommended by a friend, and my husband and I just moved to West Chester so it was my first time here. I had a great experience while there. The staff was very friendly, and I really liked my technician. She gave me recommendations for good restaurants and other places in town, as well as tips for parking. Today, however, three of my nails started chipping. This is one day after my appointment. I was really surprised and disappointed that my $76 service did not last even 24 hours later. I called the salon first thing in the morning to explain my concern, and I kindly asked for a way to remedy the situation. I’m starting a new job Monday and wanted to have a fresh manicure for the big day. I was told I would receive a call back, and I did not. They are closed until Tuesday now. I understand these things happen, but I’m mostly disappointed that I did not receive a call back. I’d be happy to visit again if the issue can help be corrected. But if I don’t hear back, I’ll probably choose a new place for my next manicure. Here is a photo showing 2 chipped nails, but 1 nail on the other hand is chipped and one with a cut above the nail too. Update: Adding 2 more photos of day 2 gel manicure. Worse chipping and the paint is now bubbling off. I’ve never had a gel manicure do this before."
"I went to Zazen as a new customer and received multiple services on my first visit: lash lift and tint, gel mani, pedicure, eyebrow tint and wax. I now have first degree burns on both of my eyebrows from the wax, still visible days after leaving the salon. I was at Zazen for several hours, and received the wax first. It was very obvious that my brows were burnt after the waxing; the technician even commented on how bad my skin looked and said, “oh, I hope I didn’t burn you, we really try not to do that…” after sitting there for several hours with stinging, bright red skin all around my brows. You would think at that point, she would have been apologizing profusely and offering a refund for the service. No apology was given whatsoever, and we proceeded with the rest of the appointment as though all was fine. I would have requested a refund on the spot, but was never even given a mirror to look at my brows (I had to use my phone towards the end of the appointment), and thought maybe it was just my skin having a reaction, and that it would calm down in a few hours. It didn’t. I did call a few days later requesting a refund for my brows. The woman I spoke with said she would ask her manager and call me right back, I never heard back. No apology was offered at that time, either. At this point, I don’t even care about the money, it’s more about the total lack of responsibility and customer service. I had an event to go to the next day after my services, and had to cake my brows in makeup in an effort to cover the burns. It was my first evening out after having a baby several months ago, and all I could think about (and feel) was my terrible brows and how bad they hurt from the makeup I had to put over them, on raw skin :(. On top of all of that, my toes chipped within one day of having them painted. So disappointed with this experience and the events that snowballed from there. I’m not one to complain or typically leave reviews, but I feel this is totally warranted. I’m leaving two stars because the salon atmosphere was fine, and I’m sure they typically do a fine job based on the other reviews I’ve read (the reason why I chose to go in the first place), but their customer experience and waxing services were subpar."
