"Wanted to share a really sad experience I had with the owner. My mother-in-law recently fell and broke her hip. She is unable to drive and will be all alone for Christmas. For decades she and her late husband were loyal customers of Centerton Inn. Sadly, I do not live near by. I spoke with the owner and asked for a Christmas Miracle, if there was any way to deliver her favorite meal to her on Christmas Eve. I was willing to pay any price and didnt care what time. She also lives 5 minutes away. I was told absolutely not. He was incredibly rude and then hung up on me. I will never give this restaurant my business again, and I encourage you to do the same. Owners like this do not deserve to be supported."
"I’ve been coming here since I was a child, and I’ve loved it so much that I make a two hour round trip once or twice a year to eat here now as an adult in my 30s. It’s gone seriously downhill over the years. The food is decent (used to be amazing) but incredibly overpriced for what you get. (Their shrimp cocktail is four medium sized shrimp and half-frozen cocktail sauce for $19…I mean come on!) I have no issue paying a lot for a good meal, but this is absolutely not worth the cost anymore. I have countless wonderful memories here but sadly I think it’s no longer worth the trip."
"The quality of the food is amazing especially the seasonal specials. We typically sit at the bar and enjoy conversations with great people. Sean is one of the county's best bartenders!"
"An absolute gem in Southern Jersey. First of all, the restaurant is the 3rd oldest in the United States, over 300 years old so you get a cozy colonial atmosphere. If the history isn't enough for you, the food is excellent. I had brisket egg rolls as my appetizer served with an au jus sauce and horseradish. The garlic house salad is so good, bursting with freshness and flavor. Finally, I had the New York Strip steak with fries. The fries were crispy and nicely well done while the steak was delectable. Just a perfect cut of meat, perfectly cooked. We have a great time chatting with the owner and our wonderful bartender who hit us off with some historical cocktails, including a Devil's Whiskers. It was a great way to top off our evening."
"Great place. Amazing history - come for the building, stay for the amazing top notch reasonably priced food. Awesome service to complement Shawne’s awesome handlebar mustache. Great drinks too! Thanks for a great experience. We will be back!"
