Taverna Rustic Italian Wilmington

"The entree I ordered (carbonara) was really good but the dessert death by sundae was alright (based on photo) due to the chocolate cake being not freshly baked, is why I rated four star on the food. Overall, it’s a pretty a decent restaurant."

"My overall experience at Taverna was a bit of a disappointment. On the positive side, it was a pleasant atmosphere and the service was great. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t very good. I ordered the Sweet Potato Ravioli and wasn’t able to eat much of it. The roasted sweet potatoes on top were tasty, but not enough to make a meal. The ravioli was not good. The filling was a weird creamy mixture that was orange in color. It didn’t taste like cheese, it didn’t taste like sweet potato - I’m not sure what it was, but I didn’t care for it at all. It’s not someplace I’d go back to; as a vegetarian there aren’t that many menu options, and I’d rather go to another Italian restaurant."

"This place is delicious! They start you off with complimentary bread with an amazing tomato oil - leave some room for that! The tater tots with brunch were crispy and delicious. Food is great for the value. Great service too."

"Food that is as delicious and satisfying as the restaurant is attractive. 8/27/23 Lunch. We were on our way to another place to use up the last $5 of an old gift card when my wife noticed this place. So we stopped here instead. I'm so glad we did! Everything we ordered was five-star delicious. House-made bread and a wonderful, dipping red sauce that kick-started our enjoyment. A grilled artichoke appetizer featured a generous helping of pecorino romano cheese among other tasty elements. A 4 cheese pizza made in a 900-degree wood fired oven and with quality ingredients. Our server gave us some gourmet basil and olive oil steeped in hot pepper flakes and chilies to add to the pizza. We asked for a refill of the bread and red sauce (so good!) A risotto appetizer, large enough to share as an entrée, perfectly prepared and delicious. A tiramisu dessert that was house-made, fresh, and tasty. Covered under a blanket of dark chocolate flakes. Lavazza brewed coffee (our favorite brand). Robust and flavorful. Harry, our server was excellent. Across the street is El Camino, another of their places. My wife and I are going there next. We are going to visit all 6 places while we are in Wilmington. Eclipse and Taverna were both 5 star (excellent) experiences."

"Overall this was a very unique hidden gem. I didn’t have much of an appetite so I wasn’t able to eat like I normally do. I got to try the TAVERNA ANTIPASTO house made mozzarella, parmigiano, and roasted red peppers. Ciabatta bread and house tomato sauce. "MAC & CHEESE" PARMESAN GARLIC FRIES. Everything was pretty tasty."
